Tight fairways. They just finished overseeding the greens. Very fuzzy.
Thank you Ron as we appreciate your 4-star rating and review. It is great to see you had an enjoyable time on the course and we hope you join us for another round soon here at Ahwatukee Country Club in Arizona.
Horrible Coarse should be plowed under
I have played courses that were in the over-seeding process but this coarse should have shut down. The greens were cut at 3 to four different levels and it looks like the greens keeping crews are out on a three week vacation. Greens were anywhere fro 2" to 3" of grass length. With the coarse in this bad of shape it should be considered criminal to charge people to play here. The bunkers have no sand at all. Not sure why they even put rakes next to them. If a country club is going to let a coarse go this badly, they should plow it over and make condos in its place. Everything including the clubhouse looks like it hasn't been unkept since the early 80's.
I will never waste money coming to this coarse again. Save your money and play anywhere but this coarse and you will be money ahead.
Thank you for your review and we are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. Our staff is working hard on getting the course conditions back up to par and we hope you will let us know if you ever need anything while you are here. Please come back and give us another try in the near future.
I was able to get on the course 15 minutes before my actual t-time as it was not busy at the time. The course was getting ready to be reseeded so the fairways were a little rough and the greens were almost dirt. My round started out fast and then it slowed about the 10th hole but I still enjoyed my round!
Value for the money. Course readying for over seeding. Dry and sparse.
Ahwatukee Golf Course
It is a true shame that they cannot seem to keep this golf course in good condition. The layout is pretty good and it provides a challenge. However, there are so many areas that are hardpan and dirt. It could be beautiful.
Flat and level
Just before overseeding, course is in great shape...not the usual overgrown, overwatered quagmire.
Friendly staff. Got out quickly. Course in fairly good shape.
Venerable parkland course with great location
New ownership has improved this course with greens upgrades but the course, which opened in 1974, and at no time have the severely tilted and golfer abused tee boxes been releveled and resodded. This glaring deficiency results in offline tee balls which radically impacts pace of play. costing ownership big bucks at the end of the day. Beautiful views and huge potential untapped due to longterm maintenance issues.
Thank you for your response but the issue will continue to hugely impact pace of play and overall course enjoyment if the tee boxes are left in such a sad and awful condition This course has huge potential based on location alone.
Course is getting ready for overseeding and you get what you expect at this time of year
Worst Course in the Valley
Will never be back!!!!!
First off I brought my son who is 5 years old, they charged me for 2 golfers. I've brought my son to over 100 courses. Typically the top dollar courses charge a rider fee rightfully so, they are actually making money and charge a premium to be there. Ahwatukee Country Club is the complete opposite of this! The course was dead have pictures to prove it. It was $20 to play they charge me $15 for my son. If I had known this I would have placed a much nicer course. Rob up at the pro shop was flat out rude and was more then ok with me walking way and never showing back up. I will never return the course its a dog track even at it's best condition. I left after 5 holes and 1 and a half hours later.
Great course for the
Course was definitely affected by hurricane Rosa
But still in good shape
For a beginner
Since I have not played golf very long I thought this course was good.. the only thing that disappointed us was the service we received at the turn. We tried to call and order our lunch but the number that was provided was off line. When we got to the clubhouse it took a long tine to get our lunch and with an event getting ready to take place ALL (5) of the servers and bartenders attention was on the event not us.
A group of old-timers like to play once a week at places where we are not in someones way. and have drinks plus food afterwards. Good times for guys 70+ yrs.
One of the worst public course in AZ
We’ve all been to one of “these public golf course” , you go once and never go back. The course is always junky and the staff doesnt seem to know what they are doing. Ive golfed here a few timea either because a friend wants to play here or because its cheap. They seem to just let people play whenever they show up so often it gets packed up, even on a slow day. The greens are always littered with leaves , bunkers are dirt not sand and the fairway has bald brown patches.
Bottom line, this is one of the worst course in the area.
A Challenging Residential Setting
This last remaining course in "old" Ahwatukee is well-kept, great personnel, good restaurant, and reliable beverage cart service. The layout is a good mix of par 3, 4, and 5s, with enough water to make you concentrate on your carry. I play it throughout the year and it's always in decent shape. The green fees on average are always a good deal. I'm glad it's still around and grateful for it!
