Ahwatukee Country Club
About
The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

FORE! The luv of golf
Ahwatukee is a standard parkland layout, lined w houses in the foothills. The layout is welcoming to all levels of golfers.
Our foursome teed off at 11am and finished at 2:45pm. The pace of play was perfect.
The greens and fairways were in good shape. There is undulation in the greens but they rolled true and steady. They are quicker than you think, especially down grain. Knowing when to be aggressive is key to avoiding three putts.
The fairways were decent w good, crisp lies. Use the divot sand. The bunkers are a little thin on sand but fair.
Our only issue was w the tee boxes. They are filled with barren spots that make looking for good footing a problem. The rough is pretty much hardpan so it’s either fairway or playing off the dirt if you tend to spray the ball.
The staff Is super friendly and helpful.
We will play it again. $70 is a bit overpriced for the course but it is a fun layout.
Course Review..
The course conditions is very poor, seem like they painted the green, the green is so dry....
First time player - female
I booked this course for an enjoyable day on a course and
It was Single female golfer and sometimes it’s hard to feel comfortable on a course or in a club house This might not be the best in Phoenix but it was good you can tell they are working on all aspects of the course but for me it was a great day great staff wasn’t too busy and enjoyed my round of golf challenging in a few spots and fu to play still nice views of the area Loved the pro shop and snack shop hotdogs were great
Fairways and Greens
The fairways require lot of cosmetic surgery .
some fairways are in very poor condition.
Green are ok
Terrible
This course should be retired. Fairways were non distinguishable between out of bounds and “in play”.
Greens were not green and played like concrete. Landscape was not kept up. Do not recommend playing here.
An okay value, thin lies
With higher prices in the winter here in AZ, the course is an OK value right now, but course conditions are not so great. It seems like the overseeding for winter did not take very well, and the course is primarily thin fairways, lots of dirt areas and very fast, brownish greens...all of which is more typical in the summer. I think a big investment is still needed to get the course in better shape. However, if you want a challenge hitting off thin lies, and putting on fast greens as a way to tune up your game, it's acceptable.
Course was in terrible condition
The course is not being kept up at all it is like playing on a concrete parking lot a discount rate of 35,00 dollars was not cheap enough for the shape of that course horrible
Bruce "R" Review
Course layout is nice and there are some challenging holes to navigate. Greens are well kept and nice and fast.
Fairways are really in need of some care and feeding, too many bare spots that affect play.
Staff is friendly and helpful
Even though the course needs some TLC, we will be back to play again soon.
