Staff were great. Played in 4 hrs so pace was great. While course was in good shape the greens were very slow. Even downhill putts were like pitting on velcro. Layout was good and in spite of greens would play again for right price
Good round
Course is now a Troon managed course. Tees, fairways and greens all in good condition. Although cart access around the greens are very restricted. Prepare to walk some. I like the layout and scenic views.
Staff is friendly but no carts in parking lot which is awkward.
All in all one of my favorite courses in the area. Price is up over last year. Hope the price doesn't go up significantly with new management.
It’s improved from last year but not quite Troon quality yet.
No leeway
Course is very challenging especially when it is windy. Fairways were very good and greens grassy. Did not seem if greens had been cut requiring you to putt much harder than other valley courses. Due to the difficulty of the course, a 4 1/2 round is normal.
Was required to pay for our 4th player despite him not being able to play due to a family emergency. I understand policy but leniwncy in this case would have appreciated,
Favorite
Foothills has been one of our favorite courses over the past 3 years. It is a shame that the price was quite a bit higher this year. I was fortunate to get a discounted rate of $75, which is about how much I feel this course is worth. The starter tried to stress a 4 hr round. We kept up with the group in front of us and finished in 4:20, which felt like a good pace. They had roped off the 1st and 18th fairways so those were cart path only, which was a little annoying. The course was in nice condition, except the greens were quite bumpy and slow. Appeared that they needed mowing.
starter is cool, ranger is definitely not. tee boxes are not fun to hit from. all have huge humps down the middle your always standing on a slope
Slow greens
Earlier reviews were correct about the pace on the greens. They were also accurate about the bag boys being useless. They were very self-absorbed and ignored me both when we arrived, and when I was returning the power cart. I had to do everything myself. In spite of that we had a great day because the course was in perfect condition, and the weather was great although quite windy. Pace of play was great but the twosome we were with were very slow. We would definitely play the course again if we could get the hot deal price
Cool Layout
The course is a nice layout but there are several weeds and dirt patches all over the place. For what this round cost me in relation to the condition was pathetic and not easy on the eyes. The greens and fairways overall were solid but there needs to be some serious groundwork in order. I’d basically call this place a “goat-track” Normally don’t post reviews on here either.
Deceptive
The only super nice holes are the ones you can see from the clubhouse, they fully overseeded the fairways and rough and they look beautiful. They are also cartpath only to keep them that way.
The greens are horribly bumpy and inconsistent. If you aren't in the fairway the other 16 holes the conditions are very sub par with lots of bare spots and spotty bermuda.
I was hoping for a lot more from this course, especially since Troon took it over. Maybe they should have spent the money they are spending on the kitchen remodel and spend it on the course. It's a shame, it's such a nice layout and used to be such a stellar course.
Slow pace of play
Foothills is a great layout! Since last year the course conditions have improved! The look of the course is improving.
Only issue was the pace of play - we played behind a tournament which supposedly had a 'Ranger" out there moving them along. We waited on every hole during our 5 hour round. Need marshall on this course!
Slow play
Course was in good condition given amount of rain the day before but despite course rangers riding the course throughout the day it was almost a 5 1/2 hour round..no explanation. Worth playing one time if in the area. Will be anxious to see the course renovations that will happen this summer since Troon took over last year as it will make this course better.
Nice fairways and greens
Overall nice condition greens too slow price too high
9 holes in Rain
Hard to evaluate as we had huge downpour on the 2nd hole. We were soaked and cold after nine so quit and grabbed something to eat and drink. Club offered nine hole rain checks but didn’t apply because it was booked and paid through Golf Now.
A real nice track w zero customer service
The course is in great shape except for the teeboxes. The boxes are not well maintained at all. Chewed up and uneven accross each tee. Absolutely no excuse. The rest of the course is well kept enough. The greens can get dry and fuzzy on the back nine. Two completely different putting experiences. The halfway house has a delicious $9 Hot Dog or Brat for $10. Excellent! There are no ball washers on any holes or on carts. The cart girl was the friendliest person on the course. The bag boys are in their own little world, not helpful nor courteous to anyone especially the older golfers that need direction, information, help, attention, anything! They're too busy for any customer service. I've never seen them greet nor offer information to several men that needed it. It was my first time at this course and I didn't know the program. Even the Starter was not friendly. Not sure how you get in this business and not be a little fake friendly? A little bit of information would sure keep your golf club running smooth. Just no patience no courtesy. I like the course, shot 78. Hit Driver on only 5 holes.
2nd play
We played a 2nd time & brought friends. The pace of olay still a bit slow. Greens are nice & plush which results in slower roll. We wanted to stop for a cocktail when we finished at 6 pm but the clubhouse & bar were closed.
