Paradise Valley Golf Course
This is a great exec course to hone the small skills. Worth the bucks you spend to play here.
Course was in horrible condition!!! Every now and then I read about a course that has been bought out and developers put shopping centers and condos on it. All I can think is, "Isn't that a shame!" If they did that to this course, they would be doing it a favor. It started when we walked into the club house. The young man asked if we had a tee time and I said we did. He proceeded to tell me that it would cost $83.00 for a twosome. I informed him that we had a time through Golfnow and that we are playing just nine and it was for $14.50 per. They said that I must of missed confirming. I understand that mistakes happen so I went to the phone and while doing it, another guy came up and said, you have the wrong day on the screen. We pay and I then ask, " Do you want us to go to the first tee?" He replied (with a little attitude), "we will call you." No sooner did we strap our clubs onto the cart that we were called to the tee. Kinda silly if you ask me. The big "wow" was the greens. They looked like they had a different grass growing on them that caused the ball to bounce and in some cases move close to a couple of inches. We just stop caring . Just a joke! This course needs major help or just a good bulldozer!!!
My wife and I are average golfers. We were following a threesome that probably should have been on a driving range or a small 3 par course and they were hitting from blue tee boxes. In front of them was a all walking foursome, so to say it was a slow pace is an understatement. No marshall the whole day.
I'm use to a full course and this was great for my chipping and putting game.
For the off season the course was in good shape. The pace of play was very good. I was teamed up with two players who only played nine holes and I had to start the back nine as a single but was quick to catch up to the group in front which made it more enjoyable especially as I had not played the course in years. Over all it was an enjoyable day of golf.
You get what you pay
An executive course with no grass greens. These greens should be the primary concern for this type of course where play is tee box to green. It seems the grass died out after over seeding last Fall. The greens were a little bumpy and it was hard to get a true roll on putts. With that said, it is a course the beginner golfer can play, especially for the price. If you are looking for a cheap round of golf and don't care so much about overall course conditions, go play it.
Really dry, all greens were pretty much bare.
Great pace of play. The staff was very good at getting us out in the middle of a tournament. The course was very dry.
Staff were friendly and courteous. The course was manageable for high handicappers like us.
Only problem with this course is the greens are extremely bad. They are painted green. Almost no grass on the greens. Every other course in the area has green that have grass
Nice short course
My wife and I played the first 9 in one hour. Second nine took two hours, but overall a great pace. Shortness makes for a comfortable round for a couple. No hole is intmidating or requiring a long carry to get to a fairway.
Cold & a little slow.
Only 50 degrees, but the sun was out most of the time. Course was full with 3-somes & 4-somes. One 5-some slowed everyone, but luckily they only played 9 holes; shouldn't be allowed. The greens are very fast and holes punched on sidehills (and don't need to be).
Needs some major TLC & bird management
I have played this course several times over the past 5 years. Yesterday will be the last time. Greens and much of the course is dead grass or bare dirt. The main reason this will be my last is it is overrun with geese and ducks. Droppings are EVERYWHERE. Had to put my shoes in a plastic bag to take them home and wash my clubs after the round.
Little ruff around the edges!! About what I expected for the price.
Similar to other reviews. Quit after 9 two groups waiting on each tee box there was a frost delay greens where in terrible shape, most had no real grass
hardly any grass, greens like highways,5 someshere,2 somes there etc, mostly locals
Best Value in the Valley
Yes,, the grounds on this course are a bit rough around the edges but there are beautiful, old trees, water for the many birds, and the fairways are green and with little chance to lose your balls. We thoroughly enjoyed our day in Paradise and will go again one day. You absolutely can't beat the price for 18 holes in the valley during the winter months.
