The course is much improved from what it was last year. New carts, better tees and greens. Good golf day especially for the price!
Cmon its pretty nice
So is it Troon North or The Boulders? No and its not supposed to be. What it is is a perfectly fine place to play and get some swings in. . .
on the upswing
Played 18 holes in 3 and 1/2 hours yesterday. Pace of play was good, and course conditions continue to improve. With the weather so hot as usual this time of year, course conditions can be spotty throughout the valley. The greens at PV were in excellant condition, the best I have seen at this course in years. By the time the round was complete, I had used every club in my bag, which makes it challenging, and fun. After the round, had an ice cold beer in the cantina to cool off.
This is a GREAT "starters" golf course !!!
I am a beginner golfer and this course is FANTASTIC for those that don't want to be "paired up" with others, due to their lack of proficiency with their golf game. This course includes 18-holes of golf, and a golf cart !!! We have such a blast playing golf here and make it a tradition to go out to breakfast afterwards !!! It is always a GREAT time !!! The course gets pretty dried out during the summer, but that's to be expected !!! The staff is always kind and considerate to us when we check in !!!
Great Day on the Golf Course
My husband and I had a BLAST on the golf course today !!! We played 18 holes and had a golf cart !!! The guy that checked us in was SO friendly and let us start 15 minutes early !!! The course had a few mud holes, but all in all was a BLAST for us !! We are relatively novice golfers, but enjoyed every minute on the course !!! Even though it is August in Phoenix, we had a great time and play this course about once every month !! Love, love, LOVE this course !!! SO inexpensive and always fun !!!
Decent cheap executive course
The greens were okay. The fairways were little sketchy and dried out. It seemed like they were trying to get the approach areas to greens on the par 4 holes in better shape. Anyway, you're supposed to go tee box to green on the par 3s! It's a decent course for the beginning or very casual golfer. We finished 18 holes in just over 2 hours, and we were in no hurry. For the money, give it a try if you like executive courses.
This formerly nice little course was in very sad condition. Water standing on cart paths while fairways were brown grass and dirt. They have serious maintenance issues with apparent irrigation problems. Greens were in better condition than fairways, but again, over watered on some fringes, but most areas appeared to be quite thirsty.
I'll play the course again, but expectations will be limited.
PV is the best value in the north valley. It’s not a super nice course, but you can get great rates, so I golf it frequently.
The course layout is fair, but the greens need some work. Some look like the surface of the moon. Fairways are in fair shape, sand is pretty hard in most bunkers, and the rough areas are very dry.
Staff and patrons neither dress nor act in accord with golf standards..denim and bad behavior abound..
Poorly kept cart paths and course... serious mud puddles where carts park at tees, and long foliage everywhere.
A course for rednecks and deplorables
which is a stain on the Valley.
Couse is improving.
Now that the Bermuda grass is greening & growing, the greens are much improved over a month or two ago. Pace of play was great today (very few golfers), but they allow 5-somes that can really clog up the course.
Good place to sharpen short game at low cost
Don't recommend playing this course on a week-end in 100 degree weather. It's a popular family friendly course on the week-ends with many beginning golfers creating plugged tee boxes while waiting for players in front of you.
It took more than four hours on this day to play a course one should play in 2 1/2 hours golfing at a normal pace of play. I enjoy the course during the week when not so crowded. It's then a good buy for the money.
