Somewhat disappointed
I've been playing this course on a regular basis for nearly 6 years and of the public courses in our area it remains my favorite. The greens have seen a dramatic improvement over the last few years. If they could just translate that improvement to the fairways and teeboxes. I'm definitely disappointed in the condition of the teeboxes. Despite the current shortcomings it's still my favorite and I would recommend it to anyone.
Great day overall
Beautiful day and generally good conditions throughout the course.
Course staff very friendly and helpful for the most part. There was an episode at the very end of our round involving an outdoor staff member that, in my opinion, was totally avoidable but occurred nonetheless. Feels like possibly a new staff member going way above and beyond their "authority," which happens time to time. No sweat though... I'm sure he will settle once encounters a few more groups that my be less welcoming than ours 😂
My Favorite public Course in the quad Cities
Always well maintained and reasonably priced. Challenging yet not a course that will vacuum up golf balls.
Surprised!
I have been playing this course regularly for 5 years and it's my favorite public course in the area. The greens are in incredible condition, maybe the best I've ever seen in the last 5 years. What is surprising to me is the poor condition of many of the teeboxes and some of the fairways. If they could get those areas to the level of condition of the greens, it would be perfect!
Two Courses: twice the fun.
We played South. More wide open with an excellent, diverse and challenging layout. North plays longer and has lots of tree lined fairways. Slicers and hooked beware.
Greens: Wowy wow nice. Excellent condition and the roll was sweet.
Fairways: A little shaggy with a few bare spots: mostly very playable.
Rough: Don't hit your ball there. You will be punished and you will be holding up pace of play. Close to US Open height. Crew can't mow it fast enough.
Driving Range: Still shaggy and rough. Has been so for years. Could use some TLC & upgrade.
Staff: Fast ,friendly, helpful, efficient. Thank you.
Restaurant: Ordered a BLT. Good thing we decided to split it. It was very large and very good. No skimping on the B either. Waiter was top notch on his game. Hopefully our 30% tip reflected our level of satisfaction.
Overall, for a muni, would definitely recommend. Reasonable prices too.
Nice Course-Slow Play
The course is a great value and the staff is always friendly. There always seems to be a tournament on the weekend and everything does back up, but if you have the time for a longer round, its worth it.
Excellent Value!
Book on-line, very easy. Got there early putted & had lunch with a Noon tee-time. Course was in nice condition and weather beautiful. One issue was there was no water in most ball washers and a few missing towels, starting with first tee? Staff was friendly and meal service quick.
Will play there again.
Somewhat disappointed
Antelope Hills South is my favorite daily fee course in the Prescott area. I have been told that there is a new course superintendent. In any case, the greens were in incredible shape. Sadly, there were a number of fairways that I can't say that about- bare and muddy areas. The other thing that I've noticed is that the rough is now brutal, with long wirey grass. It's so deep that it's hard to find your ball. This has the potential to really slow down play. If you get into the rough the best bet is just try to advance your ball into the short stuff.
Not just "Yes" but "Oh Heck Yes"!
Smokin Deal thru Golf Now so keep your eyes open. Course was well manicured and in good condition.
Lunch was excellent!
Only negative was no assistance with Clubs or brining you your cart. Ok - so you save yourself the tip money. All good!
Slow due to tournament
Tee time was 30 minutes late due to a men’s club tournament being held. I was told they added 20 people to the tournament last minute, thus delaying tee times and bunching up the course. Not happy golfers waiting on every box. We were hit into twice by impatient players.
The course itself was in great shape! I would definitely play it again, hoping for less busy circumstances.
