Ranch at Tonto Verde Golf Club
About
The Ranch course at Tonto Verde Golf Club is the newer one, this golf course designed exclusively by Gary Panks, who laid it out over 6,988 yards, upon which it has played host to several golf events at the professional and amateur level since it opened in 2002.
The Ranch golf course at the Tonto Verde Golf Club serves power golfers due to the distance, though it will certainly test those who golf a good short, thanks to big greens that are bunkered well and slope, too.
The Tonto Verde Golf Club offers stay-and-play packages for those who don't want to lodge themselves too far from the Peaks and Rancho golf courses. Pets are generally welcome, and the minimum stay is only three nights.

Great Experience
Great layout...great course conditions...played the Peaks course in 2 hours and 50 minutes. Got a great rate from GolfNow...will definitely return!
A little out of the way but worth a look!
Generous fairways and good conditions in a somewhat quiet community. Played the ranch course twice now, would like to see the other course at some point. Recommended!
Hazards On Every Hole
I have played this course one time previously and the sister course, The Peaks, a half-dozen times. What I noticed especially about The Ranch course is that there are either bunkers or washes that come up at critical distances on nearly every hole. So if you are not dealing with a bunker off the tee you are encountering a wash requiring a layup or an oh so highly well executed shot. Apart from that tricky aspect of the course, the fairways and greens are well maintained in a setting with very nice views. The range facilities are top notch with free range balls. The staff has also always been first rate. Additionally, unless you live in the far northeast part of the Valley, it is a bit of a drive to get to Tonto Verde.
Nice Course
The Course was nice, I booked this course for my husband and I to play. The bag drop service could have been better, we arrived and parked an RV since we were traveling, NO CARTS in the Parking lot so you either drop at the curb or carry your bags through the lot. The staff could have recommended taking the cart down to the driving range or putting practice green which would have been closer to place the bags in the cart for where we were parked.(or the staff could have driven through the parking lot to help with our bags (I know why they have this rule, but at this course you are still crossing roadways in the cart getting to some of the fairways). The cart drop off guys were Nice, just saying this area could have been a little better.
Nice course but annoyed with slow play and no ranger in sight
I’ve played both ranch and peaks and peaks is a bit tighter but much more scenic. Staff and course conditions were very good. Only issue is group in front of us was very slow. Had to wait at least 5 minutes each shot which after a while got very annoying. Never saw a ranger, pace clocks are worthless, people either are too stupid to read them or they just don’t care.
Amazing
This was the second time playing this course in three days at 36. Fabulous, wish I could play it every day.
Beautiful course ruined by condescending Marshall
The above comments would be considerably different if it wasn’t for the arrogance of the Marshall. He turned what should have been a wonderful day of golf with my son into a day better spent doing some yard work. It really is sad when one individual can ruin a reputation that takes years to develop. I only hope that the course reads this and makes the nessacary change.
I would play it every day
We got this on Golfnow for a great rate, and if that was there more often I would play it every day, good layout, great condition and good fun
Nice & Friendly
Enjoyable place to play and great practice areas. Friendly staff and nice course layout.
Friendly membership
My son & I had a 2PM Tee time but arrived early knowing it would be tight to finish before sunset. The starter arranged to have us play the Ranch course & we were able to go right away! Even though recently opened after over seeding, the course was in great shape, including the bunkers. It was tough concentrating with the beautiful back drop views, the course was challenging but fair. The most enjoyable thing of the whole day, was how friendly the members were to us! You felt really welcomed & not as an invader. I will be going back for sure!
Tonto Verde a must play
This course is a hidden gem tucked away behind the McDowell Mountains just north of Desert Hills. It is well worth the extra 20 min drive out here. Staff were amazing, course was challenging but fair, and the restaurant at the club house definitely 4 star quality dinning on an unbelievable patio!!
Hidden Gem
Being an Arizona resident my local buddies and I play here a lot. Both 18 hole courses are always in great shape. This years overseeed was incredible. Well worth the drive! Also don’t miss eating in the clubhouse. All of the food is incredible. By the way I drive all of the way from the city of Maricopa to meet my Scottsdale buddies to play.
