Palm at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.
Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.
A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

I realize the course had just received 2+ inches of rain on Feb 21-22. The fairways were barely acceptable and the greens were terrible. The greens were covered with unrepaired ball marks, were extremely bumpy and slow, and were not mown. The condition of the course shows a general lack of maintenance. Not what I would expect from a resort course in Scottsdale.
Alot of rain few days prior
Course was in awful shape
Alot of empty bottles on fairway, and dead fish on 9th Fairway
The didnt bother to touch the sandtraps as they were concrete.
85 bucks was a waste
Shouldve spent the extra 20 to go golf elsewhere!
Been 6 years since my last round here. Course was in excellent shape, given the busy golf season. Greens did have lots of ball marks, but that’s more about players repairing dents vs course maintenance staff.
Pace of play about 4 hours. Tee boxes and fairways in excellent shape, and rough not long.
Greens need work
Great course but the greens had pock marks all over them. I’m assuming that people don’t repair their divots and the course is not bothering to repair them. Other than that it was well layed out .
Really busy but pace of play wasn’t too bad, tee boxes, fairways, and greens all in great shape. would be in BETTER shape if people would actually fix their ball marks on the greens. would recommend this course for sure. Range is artificial mats, but practice area and putting green were well done.
Too much brown grass along the fairways. The fairways were nice and green but it made an expansive course seem very narrow .
Ball mark city
Fairways were fine but the greens are absolutely thrashed with ball marks. Hundreds on every green. People need to learn how to fix their ball marks plus a few others. Not one spot on any geeen had a true roll. Awful pace of play, unacceptable really. After an hour frost delay, the round took SIX HOURS. Where the heck is a ranger?
Never again on a Sunday. I may give it a second chance on a weekday and see if the green-mines is an every day thing.
Was a cool and windy day and I didn’t play well. The course was very good, although it was quite wet from recent rain storms. Good greens and a good layout. I played the Palm course. I would definitely return
Great course layout.
Very courteous and professional staff. Definite play again. Rained the night before so wet fairways kept carts on paths.
I appreciated the course and its amenities as well as the friendlyness of the staff.
However I was a bit dissapointed with the pace of play..
Links course. Some interesting holes starting at around seven. Ninth hole is very interesting, but tough. Can take some aggressive lines off the tees to carry trees, for long drives, on the back nine. Sloped greens are a little bumpy from lots of unrepaired ball marks, but true enough and fairly quick. Played in under four hours.
Nice course nice layout- good pace of play
I like these courses but I have two complaints- please mark direction to next hole either by painting arrows on cart path or signage showing the way to the next hole- please put some sand in the traps. I would recommend these two courses.
National Compliment day
Nice course , enjoyed the round....... 6700 yards , but only 4500 yards of actual fairway. Lots of water
Good course, but facilities and fairways are due for a renovation
This is my first time playing the Palm course and In general the fairways were in good shape but deteriorated as the round continued. Before our round we had lunch at their restaurant and the salads were very good. My wife and I played inter afternoon and the pace of play was good - but starting on the 6th hole became backed up and we started waiting 10 minutes on every hole. My general impression is that the resort is a little rundown an in need of a renovation along with the fairways that need to be reseeded and fertilized so that you’re not hitting off dirt or mud on your approach shot to the green.
Great course for a casual round, pleasantly surprised by how decent the conditions are, consistent greens and tee boxes. Fairways were in nice shape
Like the course, not much else
We’ve played this course before and liked it. Nice layout, lots of water on the front, but can be avoided for the most part by the average golfer. HATE the pace of play at 5 hours. Also hate the golf etiquette displayed by many foursomes. Twice carts from adjacent fairways dashed onto our fairway while we were on the tee box, requiring us to wait while they found their ball. Also, a large and loud group of 4 or 5 foursomes were finishing on 18 while we were on the nearby 10th tee box. No one seem to care about waiting for us to tee off before celebrating their rounds. We may play this course again, but never again on the weekend.
Give it another another 30 days
Greens bumpy, course seems to be way behind in the area in regard to total course conditioning .
Except for $5 for a 12oz beer. lots of water on the palm course. Overall fun place to play. Played several times. Staff is friendly.
