McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.

Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.

A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

Over Par

It's summer so I get that but very little grass on greens and lots of bare spots everywhere. Grass growing in the bunkers. it felt very much like kind of a run down muni. I was surprised though for being in the heart of Scottsdale, I expected more for the higher than it should have been green fee for summer. If you're local I felt like I was playing Encanto and after playing wished I would have been there for half the price. Best part was the practice area. Nice people but to many better courses in PHX to return to this one.

The greens were in terrible conditions. For 100.00 I would expect better.

Total Dog Track - Avoid This Course

I haven't played McCormick Ranch in a couple years, so I was excited to take my Dad out for a Father's Day round. Price for 18 was ~$118, which is a little steep for summer in Arizona but not wildly unreasonable, especially for a good course.

This, however, was the furthest thing from a good course. It was a total dog track, in terrible condition. They should've charged $30, not $118, and I still probably wouldn't have played it. Greens were in horrible shape (muddy and no grass in large spots). Fairways were hit or miss. In some places they were great, and in others they were extremely muddy, had no grass, or had giant holes in them. I literally lost my ball on the left side of a fairway because it was in a giant puddle that was so deep I had to use my club to fish for it. In the fairway, mind you.

Do not play here. There are 200+ courses in Arizona, probably 190 of which are better than this dog track.

Beat

Afternoon weekday round in the summer heat so the pace was great. Greens rolled good. I thought the course was fine until the back 9. Absolutely trash second half. Hard pan dirt in tons of spots near greens and standing puddles on other holes. This course should be ashamed of price. It’s worth about $45 max only because the greens rolled fine.

This course used to be beautiful

I’ve got to say I was pretty embarrassed yesterday, it had been a while since I’ve played here but it was my go to for bringing clients for a long time. I spent all week singing your praises to my clients for me to look foolish after seeing the conditions of the greens, standing water on the edges of fairways and the condition of the “cart path” on the back 9 was ridiculous. And to top it off We didn’t see a beverage cart until we were done with our round. I’ve always had a lot of fun at your courses but Jeeze you guys need to turn it around.

Pace of play was very slow

If I had known when I booked my tee time that a 4 man scramble of about 70 golfers were teeing off in front of me I wouldn't have played at McCormich Ranch. The round was just over 5 hours! I normally play in 3.5-4 hours. If it wasn't such a nice day and the other twosome were great to play with I would have packed it in at holes 13 or 14.

Back nine pretty rough

Holes are not clearly marked. Especially the back nine. We had several occasions that we weee not quite sure where the next hole was. Front nine was in great shape. Back none not so much. Lots of repairs needed to cart paths and the areas around cart path. I don’t want to sound picky but you are charging pretty steep prices. I expected a bit more.

Not Great experience

It wasn't flagged that there were limited rider facilities or the cost.. After warming up was told my wife couldn't ride with me as not enough carts. Could walk along!! Finally found the supervisor cart for me (without sat nav and which broke down after 6 holes) had to pay $160 plus another $50 odd for rider. Very poor experience. Course itself had great views but was a bit up and down.

Not worth the money

The course needs significant work to make it worth the money they charge. Blown out irrigation systems leading to puddles and then completely worn patches of dirt. Too many bachelor parties hit this course hard. Surly cart attendants
I wish I’d invested our golf budget elsewhere.
