One of my favorite courses.
Orange Tree is always a consistently good course. It's one of my top three choices when we're in Scottsdale.
The Starter is Awful
The starter named Lou I believe is rude, unprofessional. I play a hundred rounds a year and will not play here again.
Pace of play easily improved if .marshals enforced . Rookie walkers also axded to the problem.
Course Needs Help
The course was in really tough shape. This could be mostly due to the storms, or the summer season but the price tag should represent the course conditions.
Most of the tee boxes have sporadic crab grass. The fairways were very patchy (season and weather contribute to this, no fault of the course). Rough and surrounding areas weren't kept up very well (although weather has an impact, the grounds crew should at least try and clean up a bit). Greens were decent, a little long and slow but rolled true (grounds crew were punching new pin placements on the green as we were putting, never seen that before). Bunkers were compact (probably due to storms).
I usually like this course but attention to the smaller details would go a long way for the current price tag. The grounds crew should be advised to pick up trash as they see it on the course. Maybe explain to them again what the flag colors mean when punching new pin placements (also wait until players are off the green).
Great course bodacious cart girl
We had fun good food decent shape central location nice staff
Waste of money
I have played here since 2002. This is the worst I’ve ever seen the course. Trees are over grown everywhere. The grass was so spotty we would laugh and comment when we would see a good spot of grass. Weeds out of control. One tee box look liked I was teeing off in a weed test zone. It was horrible. Simply put I was not impressed.
Orange Tree is a nice little course. The summer excessive heat has taken it toll on the whole course which is totslly understandable. The greens were slow, fairways decent, sand traps (too many for my liking) were actually pretty nice. Over all this course is well worth playing.
Played early on a Sunday. The course had standing water and puddles on almost every hole. My playing partner and I both lost golf balls in the middle of the fairway buried in the muck. The greens were the slowest I have played in a long time. I know they are transitioning to bermuda for the summer, but so is every other course in the area and they aren´t this bad.
Slow Play poor course conditions
Play was slow, player assistance only seen on 2nd hole and never again.
Fairways poor, greens marginal. Overall poor course maintenance.
Not bad — Not good
Course was in ok condition for the price but the greens were overall very slow. However more than anything they were inconsistent. Also fairways were half dirt and half grass. Played this course in the fall and it was like I played a different course.
