Orange Tree Golf & Conference Resort
The course at the Orange Tree Golf Resort provides an excellent game of golf in a luxurious setting. The Parkland-style layout features fairways lined with mature trees, which not only enhance the natural beauty of the golf course but can also greatly affect shots. Four lakes are situated on the flat terrain of the course, providing water hazards that come into play on five holes. Sand bunkers also surround every green. Orange Tree Golf Resort's course finishes with its signature hole, where water cuts into the fairway and proceeds to run down the left side all the way to the green. It also requires accuracy on the approach shot in order to hit the small putting surface that is surrounded by tricky elements.

Wait another couple of weeks to play here
They're still watering the heck out of the course due to over seeding, had to lift, clean, place almost every shot - very wet and no roll
Played first day after course was closed for two weeks for maintenance .Played from cart path only- next two weeks. Course should be in excellent shape by then.
Played this course 9/18/19. Course notified players in writing the course would be closing 9/22/19. Also advised tee boxes would be scalped down 9/20 and also greens on 9/21 in preparation for overseeing. No mention of this by Golfnow in current listing of tee times.
Good Course that Needs a Renovation
As I have said in past reviews, the course has a nice layout, but it is in need of a renovation. Many things are getting a bit ragged for a course at a resort with the traffic it sees. Pull the trigger.
Good Course for Average Golfer
I am not a frequent or experienced golfer but this course was a great choice because of the fairly wide fairways and limited water holes. The smallish greens protected by high-lipped bunkers added challenge for a rather short course. The greens were in great condition but the slightly course grass made them a little slower than many other courses I've played.
No Drinking Water on Course
I like Orange Tree. It’s one of my favorite local courses. However, it was 108 in Scottsdale today and all of the drinking water coolers were empty. I can only pack so much water with me and this something I expect them to be on top of during the summer in AZ. Other than that, I had a good time.
Orange you glad we played
Nice course. Hot Deal makes it worth the drive from Tempe. Layout is nice and the course is it great shape for this time of year.
Better than the recent reviews indicate
The greens have recovered from whatever issue they had a month ago. They were on the slow side, but generally appeared to be in decent healthy condition, receptive to approach shots, and rolled fine.
Many of the fairways do have some burnt out spots, but so does every other "value" course in the area right now. Move the ball a foot or so and it will be in grass.
Orange Tree was a good summer value today, plenty of shade to pull off into for a moment. While the course is fairly easy, I do enjoy the "parkland" style layout for a change.
poor pace of play
5+ hours on a Sunday morning is unacceptable. Off the rotation
Fairways are not in very good shape but overall course was fun to play good layout greens were fine staff friendly hopefully they can get grass to grow soon
Course in really bad shape
Played this course multiple times, but obviously not in the summer. Terrible conditions currently. Greens and fairways horrendous.
Tee off at 11:00 and done and 2:15. Great pace of play. Course in decent condition for this time of year. Greens ran true. Good grass and lots of shade,
Not too bad for July 4th
Greens typical for July, but course overall not bad. Soft greens although they’re a bit beat up. Good value.
Greens are in TERRIBLE shape
The greens look like they have some kind of disease....only about 4 were playable...stay away till they get it figured out
Greens had been plugged recently, looks like the summer seed has burned out in some places in the fairways. Fun course overall, I played back in January when it was pristine.
Outside services employee too busy in cart barn on his iPhone to come out and welcome Guests. Inside shop staff great, Coach (starter) great ! Cart employee fine!
Course in fair condition except greens. Terrible greens throughout. Had been punched and sanded but above that numerous bare spots on the greens.
This is one of my favorite courses in the 50 years I have been playing in Phoenix area. Sure wish that care of the course was more important to those that make the decisions on where to spend money for care.
Thanks for opportunity to vent.
Sat Golf with Frat Brother
The putting greens had been punch and sandy creating putts offline and slow. Greens were also burning out from the heat and some fairways showing sign of burnout too. I have played this course this past winter and it was in
excellent condition. I don't plan to play again until late fall or winter. Its such a nice course to let it dry out and burn during the summer. The tree along the fairways were nice cover from the hot sun.
Overlook the greens
Great value if the greens weren’t in such bad shape. If someone was to pay full price I would demand my $ back.
