Legend Trail Golf Club
About
When the architect Rees Jones created the golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club, he created a golf course that brings out the Old West-style air of Scottsdale and a fun and testing golf course with greens made of bent grass. It's a premium golf course smack dab in the Sonora Desert.
The golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club features broad fairways, diminutive bunkering and tees placed on islands, and has been called one of the Top 100 golf courses by Golf Magazine. The magazine also gives Legend Trail 4.5 stars out of five among its
Best Places to Play, and has one of the Top 100 Woman-Friendly Fairways, according to Golf For Women magazine. Panoramas include local sites like Pinnacle Peak, and a round at Legend Trail Golf Club gives all levels of golfer several different shot-making options.
Golf a late-afternoon round on Friday or Saturday, and head back to the Trail's End Grill from 4 to 6 p.m. for specials on drinks and appetizers.

Another Great Hole Photo submitted by mhinkle on 09/23/2012
Horrible condition- not worth the money
We played the course during our golf journey in AZ. Absolutely the worst experience in terms of condition. Also lay out was like a practice course.
Felt completely misguided by the description of what it supposed to be.
Only exception were the 3 last holes - they’re what the whole course should had been.
All 15 holes even the bunkers were like cement-literally- you couldn’t make a hole with your metal pin. Thus unplayable.
I don’t recommend you to play this course- or play it if you're not interested golf at all!!! Disappointed ☹️
Legend Trail is a nice course, would have enjoyed it more if the Check-in Staff would have offered some kind of course book with the hole layouts.
The front nice is pretty straight forward, however the back nine played considerably harder as it has several blind shots or long carries from the tee or fairway. Some of the tees were pretty long for our wives to play.
Was mentioned to us by a cart gentleman that the back nine plays 6 shots harder than the front.
The fairways and greens were in good shape, cart service on the course was good.
The round played slow for 15 holes, apparently the twosome in front decided to either drop out or the Course Marshall told them to pick it up, as we didn’t see them again on the course.
The gentleman that cleaned our clubs and helped them to our vehicle may have been the happiest guy we’ve ever encountered, was a great way to end our round!
Sand traps are really just dirt
The worst sand traps ever. Like hitting out of hard packed dirt
No yardage stakes
Grass needs attention, better buy a yardage finder before playing this course
Not the hidden gem I was expecting
My first time visiting Scottsdale and I was referred to this course by a friend that used to live in the area, but it was not what I thought I would find for the price. I was expecting near perfection for the price and it was far from it , with a lot of yellow grass and unpredictable poana greens. I played the Phoenician the day before for less money and I don’t think I saw a blade of grass out of place.
Great Course!
Greens, fairways, tees were in great shape!
I’ll be back..my best round ever!
Windy and cold
Had fun even though it was a cool golf round. Course is always in great shape. Challenging as it is a "Desert" course, Always a pleasure to play.
Great Day!
Tee boxes, Fairways and greens all in good shape. Sand traps had playable sand which is great. Had a great time playing TL@A!
Pace of play.
Started at 3:45 and did not finish nine holes. Course was great but waiting a minimum of 10 minutes on every single tee box took away all the enjoyment. A real shame given the quality of the course.
