Mesquite/Ironwood at Kierland Golf Club
About
Unlike many other Scottsdale courses, Kierland Golf Club's three nines sprawl across rolling hills without a single cactus in sight. The nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Mesquite/Ironwood Course is has player-friendly fairways that are generous and easy and the green are large but not particularly undulating or fast, which makes the golf course accessible to a range of different skill levels. The course isn't entirely forgiving though. The Mesquite nine may be the flattest of the three nines but it is also the toughest. The par-4 sixth is especially demanding. The challenges of Mesquite are balanced by the player-friendly nature of the Ironwood nine. There is some strategic mounding but overall the links design is very approachable. The golf course ends with its signature hole, a classic risk-reward opportunity with a lake to the right and sand traps to the left.

Great course
Played Mesquite and Acacia both were challenging but very forgiving. Both were alittle on the soggy side in fairway areas but I’ll take it for how hot it is on early morning round, everything was nice and green not really any dead areas. Greens were extremely bumpy on mesquite and hard on acacia both with challenging pin locations so it made for a challenging round. All in all it was a good round at a good price on a quality course would definitely play it again.
Always Primo
The course is always in great shape, a good variety of holes so every level of player is going to be challenged at some point, the crew is all onboard with making it a good experience, so you just go and enjoy golf. It’s that simple.
Staff
Course was great, pace of play was good, had fun out there but staff was questionable.
No one was at bag drop
Club house staff didn't seem too thrilled that we were there.
Cart girl made us get our own ice. We asked her to fill up our ice chests and were willing to tip on the 3rd hole. She declined and told us to get it ourselves. She lost out on about $40 in tips because we did purchase food or drinks after that.
Kierland Golf Course
We had an amazing time playing Kierland. Excellent course and conditions, but more importantly, the entire organization needs to be commended from check in, to going to the driving range, and the starters and Marshalls. A TOP NOTCH golf experience. I can’t wait to return and play again.
Fun resort course
Fun for casual or serious golfers. Three different nine hole courses all of which were fun. 9th hole par 5 on Acacia is less fun because of the cart path only restriction.
Nice but Pricey
Kierland is a very nice resort golf course that provides wide fairways and challenging greens. That said, paying $300 for the round with amenities that I find at a good muni is over the top. But, it's Arizona...
Greens are in tough shape, looks like many are diseased. Lots of soaked spots in the fairways. Pace of play was pretty slow too. Little expensive for what you get. There are better values out there.
Perfect Resort Course
Course conditions were excellent! Just fun to play! Bring your A game if you want to shoot a good score!
Pretty boring
27 hole course. Played the Mesquite/Acadia course. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers in very good shape with the exception of the greens on the Mesquite 9. They are terrible. Grass is very thin, almost putting on mud.
A nice resort course if you are just going to be playing it a couple of times. Pretty boring layout but very forgiving. Most of the course funnels into the fairway so even your poor tee shots find the fairway.
For the money, there are much better courses in the area.
