Unhappy with the course
Disappointed that we didn't get to play the South Course. We signed up for that one but relegated to the North course when we arrived. Felt it was not the best course for the money. Extremely boring course. We won't be back.
Beautiful day at the South (Piipash) Course
My daughter, who was a Div 3 golfer, and I were paired with a lovely couple in their 60’s from Denver. The staff was welcoming, the rangers ensured their was no delays, and the course was in great shape, although we wish several pins were not placed so far in the front part of the green with severe slope. We also saw six wild horses; what a sight! She had an off-day and shot an 85 from the 6,000 yard gold/jade combo, while I shot an 89 from the 6,400 yard tees. The bunkers were inconsistent— one was like concrete. All said, a fine day!
Staff not attentive
Staff could be more friendly & attentive with service. While in pro shop, staff took my cart with all my belongings & hot dog, thinking I just abandoned it. Need more bathrooms or better locations on the course. Tee time was late in day (1:52),couldn’t finish course before sunset, drove off leaving 4 unfinished holes! Course was slow, no rangers to move it along.
Playable course in good shape
Flat, comparatively strqight with wide fairways as reflected in the slope rating. Course was in excellent shape.making the day very enjoyable. We played in 4:15 on a Wednesday afternoon. Unlike so many places the rangers actually seemed to work at keeping things moving. My only complaint and possible deterrent to my returning is the large volume on goose droppings on several holes and greens. The geese need to find their way to someone’s holiday table.
Usual good value for the buck, course was in good condition and fun playing partners. Apparently the first frost delay of season but we were only 15 min behind schedule when our tee time came up.
Too many geese and their deposits on the back nine
Piipaash Course was beautiful today
Except for a large flock of Canada geese and their droppings all over the green on par 3 17, the course was wonderful. Very player friendly.
One of my favorite courses in Phoenix
It lacks the elevation change and wow factor of a lot of the bigger names, but this course has as much strategy and charm as any course in the Valley. It's wide fairways are forgiving and you're not likely to shoot a huge number here but the subtleties of the greens make it hard for even good players to go low. It's a great course.
It's in very nice condition right now. Greens are firm and rolling well, fairways also had some bounce. A couple areas around the green were a bot soft which was the only issue. Hopefully that will resolve as the course matures from overseed.
We played the front nine briskly then ran into a logjam of groups on 12. Even so we still played in under 4 hours which is not bad on a Sunday afternoon when following a junior event.
The junior event, however, did create my only real complaint for the day. The event put out special flags, all the same color, and the course didn't provide any pin sheets. So all day long we had no idea what the hole locations were from the fairway. That's frustrating on a course with relatively big greens, some of which are somewhat blind and/or not well defined. Otherwise, a wonderful day out on a beautiful November day in Phoenix.
First time at Talking Stick
Decided to play here after moving to the area. Course is in good shape, greens are firm and fast and fairways are in great condition. Finished round in 4 hours, which was good for a holiday. Would have been a 3.5 hr round but the twosome in front of us didn’t understand the concept of playing ready golf.
An excellent course to play it forward
I played the more forward tees and found it to be a very comfortable course, with interesting holes and great conditions. My wife played the most forward tees and found that she could reach the greens in regulation on most holes.
The most concerning part of the round was that the website and Golf Now said that it was not cart path only, but it was making for a difficult walk for my partner's bad knee. Lots of construction going on, but still worth the trip.
Awesome day on the links
Excellent playing conditions, pace of play was good, good value for money
Course was in great shape. Views spectacular. Very nice day of golf.
can find better for price
Played T.S. many times but in years past during travels to the valley area
My playing partner just got his new knees so wanted a forgiving course but also a memorable course for first outing after months.
Memorable but fro the wrong reasons - poor course condition, particularly the tee boxes and some fairways pretty worn. And for the money (expected better), I could have found a lot better place. Value is just not there anymore.
Golfed with a local gentleman, who had great knowledge of the course and was very engaging!
A frustrating day
The round to over 5 hours and 15 minutes. When we got to the first tee we found out it was cart path only. The starter gave us the wrong score card (there are 2 courses) and the staff very poor.
Nice course horrible pace of play.
Thé course is great. We probably fell on a bad day. First nine took almost 2.5. Hours to play. Horrible pace. Because of that we could not finish the 18th when the sun set. We never saw a Marshall on the course. It could have saved our round.
We had a fun round and the course was In great shape The pro shop staff were very basic and not so friendly and we had to ask for everything
The GPS on the cart didn’t work
We would play there again
