Talking Stick Golf Club - Piipaash Course
The Talking Stick Golf Club, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, offers two uniquely different courses that each offer many options according to your playing skill. The Piipaash course (previously known as South at Talking Stick Golf Club), with its tree-lined fairways and raised greens defended at the sides offers a more straightforward style of play than the O'odham Course (formerly known as North at Talking Stick Golf Club).
A round of golf on the Piipaash Course at the Talking Stick Golf Club kicks off on a par-4 hole that measures 405 yards from the Black tees. Three long par-5 holes ensures that power golfers will get their kicks, with the fifth hole coming in at 516 yards, the 1fourth measuring 541 and the 16th playing to 548. The round of golf concludes on a relatively shorter par 4 that measures 323 yards.
After a round of golf on the North Course at the Talking Stick Golf Club, head back to the Wildhorse Grille for drinks and a bite to eat.

Poor value for the money. Fairways were not well maintained and greens were very firm. Layout is above average. All most all peripheral areas were covered with green weeds-not aesthetically pleasing at all. Course was poorly marked and the carts did not have GPS. Staff was good.
O'odham Course in great shape
We played the O'odham Course (north) in just over 4 hours. Not bad considering the course was full. The course has wide fairways that are in excellent shape. The greens were very fast and a little on the hard side. The bunkers were perfect. All of the staff are very friendly. A top notch golf course. Well worth the money for this time of year.
The course was in excellent condition. When we booked it was noted that we may play the O'Odham course which is what happened. Unfortunately, that course is a bit longer from the Jade tees making it less enjoyable. The next tees up are just too short. The staff were friendly and efficient but the lack of a starter is the reason for 4 stars. We played in 4 hours as it was not fully booked but one of our foursome said that was very unusual. The ranger also told us that they do not push pace of play. Cold drinking water available on many holes which was great.
Oh no a tournament
Course did not let you know a tournament was going on, extremely backed up, luckily they were able to slot us in to the other course.
But it never rains in Phoenix
Waited out an unusual rainy Christmas Day in Phoenix. Fortunately the "Weather Bug" app was spot on and the rain ended a few minutes before my tee time. Crenshaw and company did a remarkable job of turning a flat desert scrub location into a challenging yet fair course.
The Grill was a great place to have lunch before my round.
A really memorable day.
Not Bad Overall
Course ok. Layout decent. Generous landing areas. Tough undulating greens but in pretty good shape and very speedy on the stimp. Course not manicured very well-- lots leaves and branches around and very little distinction between rough and fairways on most holes. Teeboxes a little beat up. Certainly overpriced.
Very disappointed with the communication with the cart people / starter. I think there was a starter? It was a cluster. I paid too much to deal with that. Course was In fair condition. Very slow play on the back nine after a nicely paced front side.
I’m not sure if they are the “regulars” or what, but the etiquette displayed by some (more than a couple of groups) was atrocious. I’ll never play at this place again.
Beautiful, well manicured course
This resort course is beautiful and well maintained. It features wide fairways with minimal changes in elevation.and very fast greens.
Course in great shape. Tough long par 4s. Friendly staff. Would play again
The course is in excellent condition. Pace was a bit slow because cart path only due to recently seeding. The only problem I had was how in informative all the staff were. We were two singles and a couple and with all the staff interaction no one explained how pin placement was since no markers and no one told us cart path only. We had a total of 10 interactions with staff.
Excellent course! The south course was in fantastic shape. I only have one complaint the pace of play was terrible. I had a 3 some In front of me who only seemed to want to get drunk and whoop and hollar. In front of them a 4 some of 80 year old men, you can imagine how frustrated I was. If the operator of the course had a suggestion box I would suggest Marshall’s on the course preventing this behavior and speed up play. I teed off at 2 pm and it was pitch black dark when I reached to 18th green.
This course was awesome!! The course is in great shape. The only complaint I have is the pace of play, I had a threesome in front of me. Young adults, who where there only to get drunk it seemed. And in front of them a foursome of 80 year old men who, well you can imagine. I wish they had Marshall’s on the course to prevent this. I teed off at 2 and it was completely dark by the time I reached the 18th green. But oh well it was a fantastic course highly recommend To anyone looking for the real AZ golfing experience.
There are far more wonderful courses in Scottsdale that you'll love and won't wish you didn't waste a round on this course. It was cheap, which was good. But garbage on the course, incredibly slow pace of play, beginner golfers in front of us driving on the par three's and up on the greens, playing music in their carts and being disrespectful to the rules and etiquette of golf. The front 9 was boring and easy. The back 9 was at least more picturesque and challenging. Won't go back.
The course is covered in Canadian geese. Greens have poop all over them. For the amount of money that we paid the least they could do is keep is clear of goose droppings. They have a real problem and by their own admission are doing nothing to manage it.
Aside from the obvious goose problem the course is average layout wise. Greens rolled true when not covered in goose poop.
Overrated, nothing special , won’t ever play it again
Course is not worth the price. For the amount we paid the least they can do is keep the greens clear of goose poop. The canadian geese were everywhere. Golf elsewhere
