Hillcrest Golf Club possesses a championship length course that offers a great variety of game options with five sets of tees. The course has a traditional design that features open fairways lined with trees, which put a premium on straight shots. The greens vary greatly with some that are relatively flat and medium sized and others that are quite large and dramatically sloped or multi-tiered. In addition to several sand bunkers, water hazards in the forms of lakes and ponds come into play. The signature hole is the par-5 13th, which has been touted by the Phoenix Gazette as being on of the best holes in the state. Hillcrest Golf Club not only has a dogleg around a lake, the hole requires an approach shot uphill to a green that is guarded by eight bunkers.

terrible

Must have lost their water rights. A lot of fairways were just not cut or or no grass at all. Too much to write.

Was a nice course but not now.

Very disappointed in condition, but i can live with it. I'm sure staff cuts and maintenance issues are a direct factor of Covid. Its just not a 26 dollar course for weekdays right now. Won't play again unless a drastic rate drop.

Nice people. Course has a number of long holes that draw to the left. Greens rolled well, and the fairways were receptive. Great value for the money compared to all the other robberies all the other Golf Courses are committing this 2020 Covid summer

Too hot to not be moving

Stacked the players to tight. After 36 minutes we completed the 2nd hole. Way too hot to not be moving!

Brutal Summer

Hottest summer on record has taken its toll here. Wait a couple months to play this track after winter overseed and it should be more enjoyable.

Great Course to work on your game

Time of your tee time will determine pace of play, summer after or after is great.. I went after the rush and it was wide open. Played single and was able to practice shots and putts. I love the layout of the course, mostly open but they have some good challenges on holes too. Staff is always great!

Not a good experience

arrived as a single and at the 1st tee a 4th person arrived and I was told they needed his cart so we would pair up in the cart I had, this was after a 30min delay from scheduled start time. I left after nine holes

always fun

course in pretty good shape considering 115-118 degree heat. greens were in really good shape, fairways mostly pretty good-some brown areas but to be expected. Tee boxes 50/50...some good some in rough shape. overall a good track for fun and practice.

Love - Hate

Love the layout, start easy and builds. However, the conditions were poor, greens were slow with a lot of damage (fungus?). Too many bare spots and overwatering caused us some trouble with muddy areas to play/walk/drive through. Very slow foursome held our twosome up and did not offer to let us play through so we skipped a hole.

Fairways and greens were in terrible shape

In addition to the poor condition of the course, we played behind a FIVESOME 2 of which appeared to be playing for their first time.
