Hillcrest Golf Club at Sun City West
About
Hillcrest Golf Club possesses a championship length course that offers a great variety of game options with five sets of tees. The course has a traditional design that features open fairways lined with trees, which put a premium on straight shots. The greens vary greatly with some that are relatively flat and medium sized and others that are quite large and dramatically sloped or multi-tiered. In addition to several sand bunkers, water hazards in the forms of lakes and ponds come into play. The signature hole is the par-5 13th, which has been touted by the Phoenix Gazette as being on of the best holes in the state. Hillcrest Golf Club not only has a dogleg around a lake, the hole requires an approach shot uphill to a green that is guarded by eight bunkers.

this course should close for renovations
no grass in fair way course dry as a bone no grass on the greens
Great time great pace of play
Had an early morning tee time. The green were in good condition and so were the fairways. Some spots may have been a little over watered but it wasn’t too bad. the roughs weren’t great but they were not terrible. for the most part it was a fun course to play on and would play there again. Very forgiving fairways as well if you are new to golf. The staff was also very friendly.
Well kept, forgiving course.
Fairways and greens are well kept. Visually nice, but simple. A few annooyingly well-placed bunkers. Fortunatly for me, the one I ended up in was hard pack (see, forgiving).
Course has a lot of leeway for mistakes. Even the rough is usually playable. Other players and staff were inviting and friendly to our first time visit.
We will play again!
Greens and Fairways
Greens and fairways are in great shape at this time of the year. Tee boxes are in good shape.
Cow pasture
Don’t waste your time here! Very bad conditions and run down…… 😕
Slow golfers playing from the blue tees that didn’t have the distance. It took me 2:30 minutes to play 9 holes and that tired me out for waiting forever for the golfers around me.
Nice course
Overall a nice course greens were good fairways good except for standing water in places some of the sand traps were more like waste bunkers
We played in under 3 hours 18 holes can’t beat that only issue we had was when we were finishing the 12 th hole 2 guys that had been behind us decided to jump ahead of us ? I asked what they were doing and they said we were too slow Played the front in a hour and a half had a group in front of us ? Not a problem letting someone through but they didn’t say anything
Really bad golf etiquette
Tee to green the course is in much better condition than it has been. However, it is still rough around the edges.
Sun City Golf
Course was ok…wide fairways so pretty forgiving if you are a little errant. Greens were good and rolled nicely. Not sure about the yard markers as I didn’t have my range finder and I thought they were a little off. No beverage cart so pack lots of water. Pace of play was good..4 hours to play. Fairways were in good shape. Tee blocks were pretty rough on a few holes (par 3’s). Would play again.
