Located in the west valley, the golf course at Coyote Lakes Golf Club combines a desert landscape and traditional design with scenic views of the White Tank and Bradshaw Mountains. Although it is modest in length and suitable for all players, the course is still an enjoyable challenge for even advanced golfers. The front nine is more difficult than the back nine with large greens and several contours. The back nine is also challenging though with several notable holes. The fairways are undulating on both and water hazards come into play on several holes. Coyote Lakes Golf Club's signature hole is the 14th, a par-3 hole that requires a shot from an elevated tee to a green that is well protected by two sand bunkers and a lake to the left.

Pace of play

Four of us were started on the 10th tee at 1:08pm. We moved along pretty well for about five holes and then began to bunch up on each hole. After the turn on number 1 we were bunching up with 3 foursomes on every tee box. By the time we finished number 4 it was 5:30pm and we knew we couldn't finish the round so we left. On the way in we passed a foursome with a hole and a half open in front of them while they wandered around in the rough looking for balls. Then we passed what seemed to be a ladies tournament with several groups appearing to reconcile their scores while still on the greens while others waited on the tee box behind them.

speed it up

Pace of play was ridiculous over 5 hours; nobody cares how good of a golfer you are, they care if you are slow

Horrible experience

We got paired up with 2 beginners (which was not the issue). They didn’t have 2 sets of clubs. They had to share a set which means that when one is chipping, the other one had to wait to use the wedge before walking to their bail. That also applied to putting as well. Painfully slow.
The group in front of us were drunk and acting like idiots. They were playing bumper cars with the golf cart and kept leaving the flag on the green and walking away. They would get upset at their chips and swing chunks of divots on to the green. We almost got into fight because they didnt have any etiquette. Horrible day.

Quite a few very tight holes

The group I play with love this course! The grass is green in most places. Fairways and greens are in great shape! The grounds crew do a great job and their hard work pays off. Traps need additional sand but are playable. Pace of play was a little slow but for the most part is was acceptable.
This is a very challenging course and you need to be straight off the tees. I do recommend this course.

Surprising in Surprise!

Can't say this place would be super convenient for much of the valley but it is a great value. The track played with a surprising amount of slope and visual interest. I picked an afternoon with sustained 15+ mph winds with plenty of 25+ gusts which made the course extra challenging for a first timer. I'm looking forward to going back for another crack at it.

They always treat you great

I love this course and play it every time I visit Phoenix. The staff there is wonderful, friendly. Unload your car, load it up, clean your clubs, treat you like a real private course. The course looks to the eye far narrower than it plays (at least for me), and course knowledge does help for sure. Glad I played with a local first time. Other courses in and around Phoenix charge a lot more for less. GPS in carts, greens were great, and conditions of fairways and tee boxes all well cared for.

Teeoff-markers need care

Excellent course.
The only complain is that teeoff-markers are chaotic and hard to distinguish between black, blue, etc.
Otherwise 5 stars

1st Time Playing - Nice Course

First time playing Coyote Lakes and we truly enjoyed the course. Lay out is wonderful with lots of ups and downs and sidehills making it challenging but not crazy. Greens were fast but receptive with lots of nuance. Course was in wonderful condition and staff was excellent. Very happy we found this place and shall be returning.

Fun Surprise in Surprise

The course was in great shape and we found the rolling fairways fun and challenging. The greens were fair and not too tricky. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. It was a good value and we will definitely return.

Challenging Greens

The course was in EXCELLENT condition. We arrived early for our 07:56 Tee Time but were told it was wide open and could go right out - so we did. The greens and many fairways have lots of undulations and elevation changes providing the relatively short course with more than ample defense. Local/prior knowledge would have been extremely helpful. Finished in a little over 3 hours. We'll definitely be back again.

Good value.

I play mostly in California. The prices have spiked since 2020, and not because of COVID. So Coyote was a great value considering. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The course was in very nice shape. The greens were firm and fast. The fairways were tight in spots, but forgiving. If you get the chance to play before the mercury rises, I would recommend you do so.

Coyote Lakes slow slow play on a Sunday

I would not play ever again on a Sunday teamed us up with two men the one never played golf before they quit us and joined the other 2 foursomes behind us so made course even slower played back first got to the. Second hole on the front and there were 4 foursomes waiting to tee with one of the foursomes playing with 6 golfers
We turned around and came home
Very disappointing they need a ranger to continue to watch teams who play 6 and speed up slow play hitting 5 balls off the tee is unacceptable
