Great Eagle Golf Club
About
Great Eagle Golf Club, rated one of the most affordable golf courses in Arizona, is a championship course in the West Valley. Although it has a traditional design there are several unique and challenging elements that come into play such as undulating mounds that cause uneven lies and well-guarded greens. Water hazards also come into play on four holes. The golf course offers three sets of tee boxes so that there is some flexibility regarding levels of challenge, but overall the course is suitable for any player. The Great Eagle Golf Club, in addition to the course, also offers both a chipping green and a putting green.

Greens and fairways were amazing, didn’t have to wait at all and finished in under 4 hours. The sand traps had no sand in them and were hard as a rock. Other than that it was a great course for the money.
Challenging course to play , target golf for sure luckily I got paired up with a local with alot of course knowledge " Thanks Jeff I enjoyed playing a round with you " fairways and greens were in very good shape.
Do not bring a kid with as a rider
Was denied letting my 9yr old son ride with us in the cart. Did not ask for an extra cart and asked if we could pay a rider fee and was still denied. Our 4some left and we got our money back
Very slow playing pace
We quit after 15 holes due to extremely slow play. Front 9 was reasonably but the back 9 was slow after the 10th hole. We never saw a Players Assistant anything during our round.
Noon tee time
Challenging, interesting layout. Greens, fairways, tee boxes in great shape. Roughs are scruffy as they try to protect what there is of the dormant Bermuda. Bunker sand was firm and crunchy. Not the best for green side bunkers. Back 9 tougher and longer than front.
Course nearly unplayable off fairway
Fairways good, greens OK, lots of rocks in the dessert areas and no sand in the traps
Lots of dirt
It was hard to find the pro shop. The whole restaurant area was blocked off with construction.
Luckily, we played with two gentlemen, who knew the course and helped us navigate our way through on where best to hit.. lots of dirt and not in good shape..
I got a good price on golf now for us so I felt for the money it was a good value, but I didn’t like the course I didn’t like the layout of the course and we won’t be going back..
Great Eagle has lots of possibilities.
The putting green is in really bad shape. Not a very good way to introduce the course to players who are anticipating a beautiful golf experience. Noticed a lot of junk, broken pipes, taped off areas all around the course. Not very pleasing to the eye. The carts all need to be replaced!
Good
No Marshall and ok for a 5 some to hold up a 2 some..
Good course, but over-priced and WAY to slow
First time playing here. The clubhouse is going through a renovation and was difficult to find where to go with no front entrance. The fairways and greens are in GREAT shape. The area had a lot of rain the days before we played, and it was soggy off the fairways. The course seems "tired" overall, like something that could use some TLC.
But the pace of play was horrid. Almost 5 and 1/2 hours, with no sign of anyone marshalling anyone. It looked to be about 3 groups ahead of us that were having the problems, with guys searching for lost balls for well over the 3 minute guideline. We waited on every shot. I'm glad we had nothing else planned that day except watching the Super Bowl - teed off at 9:40, finished at just before 3:00.
$80 was way over-priced - would be an acceptable round given all considerations at around $55 to $60.
Just ok
Don’t let the appearance of hole 10 along Bell Rd fool you. The rest of the course does not look like this. Cart paths are beat up and the carts reflect that beating. Course conditions are just ok.
