North Golf Course at Granite Falls Golf Club
About
The North Course is one of two courses at Granite Falls Golf Club, the other naturally being the South Course. The North Course was built on a rolling, hilly terrain with stately trees and abundant shrubbery. Although the fairways are quite generous, they are undulating and surrounded by sand traps. There is also extensive mounding and bunkering, both grass and sand, to provide more challenge. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Many holes have beautiful mountain backdrops, creating a scenic environment for the game. The course has four sets of tees, making it accessible to all skill levels. Granite Falls Golf Club, in addition to the two golf courses, also features a grass driving range with target areas, two putting greens, and a short game area with a practice bunker.

Battled dust wind and rain
I had to battle the dust, wind and the rain and it still could not ruin my round. The course is in excellent shape. The greens have recovered from the aeration. Fairways are lush and green. Pace of play was outstanding since everyone else fled when the wind and rain blew through.
Great course, not much else
Played there on a Friday morning with my college age daughter. Reed off at 8:30. Course was in great shape and so we’re the greens. There were water fountains every four or five holes but, when it’s 105 degrees and 52% humidity you get dehydrated fast. We played the. North course and we didn’t have any cups. Then we found out they don’t have a cart girl. I fully expected to fix the problem on the turn - but, there was only a bathroom on the turn. I needed some sugar or something to hold water in. My daughter was dizzy by the time we were done (4 hrs). Of course the regulars who play there know the drill and have their own coolers etc & their own cart..
I would expect with an older clientele they would be more thoughtful during the summer.. it spoiled an otherwise nice round. We’ve lived here 20 years. This place caught me off guard. We survived Granite falls.
After the rains
The course was very wet. It must have rained pretty good out here the night before. There was no standing water, but lots of sodden areas. Most of the greens are raised so nothing rolls up. They have lots of algae spots throughout the greens. It looks like they roll the greens, but the grass is just mashed down flat. With the rolling and algae, it makes the surface kind of bumpy and inconsistent. I think they roll them too often to make them faster. They need to treat the algae and clear that up. Other courses like Copper Canyon have fast and lush greens almost like a carpet. The greens here were more like the cheap Sun City courses. The pace was OK. I caught up to a twosome who started 30 minutes ahead of me by the 4th hole. By the fifth hole we were packed solid and waiting. On the 10th hole we could see the 18th hole had three groups on it. Ranger drove by several times, but did nothing.
Very Nice
I enjoyed my entire round. The gentlemen I played with were high handicappers but still got around the course in a reasonable pace. We need more of that. Hats off to the whole staff and the guys I played with. I will be back.
No beverage cart
No beverage cart or any place to get something to eat or drink at the turn, awful planning it’s super hot and you better bring your stuff to drink and eat to survive. Course is ok nothing special, for this amount of money many troon courses are way better.
Average course
No beverage cart or anything at the turn to get something to drink or eat, super hot and nothing to get something to drink.
North Course
North Course is a small distance from Clubhouse and should have some sort of food/snacks/drinks available at the turn since there is no food/beverage cart. Other than that the course is very enjoyable, well laid out, mixture of long & short distances and undulating greens that require a golfer to think through club selection and placement.
Fast greens
Greens were too fast to hold many shots. Lots of dark spots where grass was to short, otherwise course and facilities top notch.
North course is awesome
Played the North course. If the other three courses are this good I would buy a house here. Worth playing.
Good course, good layout,
Fun course, nice layout, played 18 on a Sunday morning under 4 hours. Greens are really good, fairways in nice shape
A must play course
Either North or South tracks are a definite play in Surprise
Pool table like speedy greens
A real good value place to spend your budget on
