Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills
About
The executive-length Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills (formerly known as Rolling Hills Golf Course) provides an excellent game and it is a very player-friendly course. True to its name, the course is quite hilly causing a few elevation changes and undulating greens. The fairways are lined with pretty trees, adding some challenge and beauty to the course. There are no water hazards but there are a few strategically placed bunkers to worry about as well as some out-of-bounds stakes bordering a few of the holes. Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills consists of ten par 3s and eight par 4s. On the premises there are also practice facilities, a pro shop, and an on-site golf pro.

Phoenix Natives Staple Course
We have been playing Rollings Hills for decades. It's not an easy course. We call it the training grounds. You want to work on your short game? this is it. The value for the money is just unbeatable. Especially when the snowbirds come into town and jack up all the rates everywhere in town. Rolling Hills is always reasonable and extremely fair. So when Papago is triple digits... Come on down to Rolling Hills for some fun, a challenge, great views and the BEST Snackbar and Cocktail Lounge in town. Good food, great drinks - just a total Arizona experience. 40+ Semi Native signing off.
Fun, yet challenging
It's all about placement on this deceptively shorter course. Pretty fast pace of play. Fairways and greens were in good condition.
Hard as nails
Just hard . Lots of ups and downs and rocks and shrubs .
Absolutely incredible.
Enjoy this course before it gets remodeled and unaffordable. Love playing here. I wish I was there right now but responsibilities. .
Bartender was awful
The young bartender gal was very rude and constantly complaining. She was bothered when someone walked in to order a drink or food. She had a frown on he face and was not nice to all customers. Horrible customer service and an absolute terrible attitude.
Slow play and bad mgmt
Sent out on 10 (back instead of 1). Told we’d be followed by a shotgun tournament mid aft. On 16 approached by organizer/manager and told to get off the back (move to #1) immed to make room for the tournament starting on the back (shotgun). We rushed and played 17-18 anyway and were at 1 when the tourn started. Played the front in about 2.5 hrs with 4 groups on some tees. Crazy slow and ended up with a 4.5 hr round on a par 62. (?). John the starter was apologetic and a nice guy but the admin running the tourney was rude and obnoxious. Wouldn’t play here again.
Played with my wife and it was perfect course for her. And can be challenging from blue tees for men. Great value for March golf in Phoenix. Good driving range and chipping area.. will definitely play here when we come back to Phoenix
Good day
The course was fine. Not issues there. But restaurant needs help. One lady preparing a serving lunch sandwich. Four people lined up waiting to order. Food was delicious but much too slow..
