Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa
About
The Catalina Course is one of two golf courses at Omni Tucson National Resort. It is more well known than its sister course, the Sonoran, since it is both the original layout and it has been host to over 30 PGA Tour events over the years. The Catalina Course is a traditional parkland layout while the Sonoran offers true desert golf, as its name would imply. The challenging design incorporates eight sparkling lakes and a total of 80 bunkers strategically placed throughout. The 18th is touted as one of the finest and most demanding finishing holes on the PGA Tour. This tricky par 4 leaves little room for error with water along both sides of the fairway, it also requires a blind tee shot to a well-protected, elevated green.

#16 plays fairly steeply uphill. I was 16 inches for a birdie, after hitting a solid 135 club from 109 out. Photo submitted by Jonathan5270953 on 08/14/2013

Prepare to be challenged!
Elevation changes, breezes, fast and tricky greens, plus plenty of bunkers will challenge most every golfer. Don’t play the back tees just because the first hole is short! I’ll watch you tee off from my condo behind the 5th tee.
Excellent challenging layout - Sonoran course
Every staff member i met was absolutely the best - very friendly and trying to help in every which wat. The Sonoran course layout is very nice and has some spectacular views. Cart path only due to recent overseeing.
lots downed trees & impediments, recently punched greens, plinko.
Champions Tour Course
Very good parkland style course. However, lost a lot of trees in a storm. Good layout fairways and greens in good condition.
Great layout
The course was in good condition considering it was lasted with a storm. Great layout and good greens. Will play again next time in the area.
Tucson National
Pro shop Staff were the best i have encountered in Az. Course was not in the best of shape due to storm that knocked down 67 trees. But layout is great, beverage cart came by often and she was very friendly as well.
Fantastic
Course just recently reopened from summer maintenance and it was as good as you would expect it to be. Great shape, greens a smidge slow but in really good shape.
Course very beat up!
Large patches of bare dirt on many of the fairways. Greens extremely mottled, soft as a sponge. Also many greens had very rough patches which made putting impossible. The ball actually hopped a lot over the rough patches. We finally instituted a two putt rule. This course is not worth the money.
Amazing!!!
I couldn’t speak more highly of Catalina. Totally different from Sonora course. More traditional layout. Greens are excellent. Fairways are in good condition. Top notch track. And for $100 bucks I’d take it. If you stay at the resort they knock it down to 80 which is great. The restaurants and on course amenities are amazing. Will definitely be back.
Great value for me, a 5 handicap
Loved the course, played Sonoma, shot 79. Greens were holding and tees/fairways were in great shape. Bunkers ranked and plenty of water/bathrooms on course. Loves the practice areas, spent over 1.25 hrs there! Paid $68 after 2pm so great value!
