My fav
This is the course I played for the first time and no matter where I go I always come back to it
Change in Policy at 49er??
The course was in reasonable condition although somewhat wet in many fairway areas. Greens were difficult to read as some were slower than others creating speed questions. Having played this course many times, I was amazed at how many "walkers" I saw on the course. I don't remember this in years past. The result was considerable slow play, which is not a characteristic I enjoy. With this in mind, the course (not the slow play) is fun to play.
The hole course is in poor condition. The place is not worth it unless you get a deal on GolfNow or some other platform and that might not make it worth it. I hope management sees this, find some pride and get this place in decent condition.
Poor Course conditions
The overall course conditions are not good. This is the first time we have played it in 2 years after having played it many times in past years and were disappointed. The rough in many areas is just dirt, the greens are vey thin without much grass and the bunkers need attention. The fairways were pretty good overall.
This course could have better signage from hole to hole. If we hadn’t been partnered up with another couple who knew the course, we would have gotten lost.
Fantastic winter golf experience
The staff was welcoming and responsive. The course was in good shape but had some holes that were wet whyi. They can’t really help. The greens were fast but consisten. Overall great value for the price in the winter.
Great golf
We play here a lot. It’s very fun. Love the staff.
Great
Everything was great except when we got back to the parking lot there people launching balls into the parking lot from the driving range. I don't know if it was intentional or not but there were numerous balls in the parking lot and in the 5 minutes it took us to load our clubs 3 balls hit cars. My buddy was nearly hit. This is a dangerous situation.
Some improvement, doing well.
Folks who downgrade this course do so based on uneven conditions, and slow play. I concede those issue. Fairways are bumpy, tees can be splotchy, and because it’s a great winter play value it gets lots of prime time play. Being tree lined and somewhat lengthy with large difficult greens, it can present challenges.
Greens are cut winter short, moderately firm, somewhat sandy, and are torturous putting across or downhill. Bunker sand is good, fairways yield good and some taxing lies. Overall, there are improvements and they should be recognized. Friendly, accommodating staff, and good food and drink as well. I’ve played this course for years, and will continue….enjoy 49er!
