City course
The course was not maintained well,. On the 16th hope, we didn’t even know where the fairway was. There were many bare spots. The greens were very tiny.
You can tell this place is not up to “Par” from the time the staff greets you. Not very friendly and once we got to the tee boxes we were further disappointed, inaccurate yardage on the markers by 20+ yards, and clearly overwatered, I would have thought it was a city course and not a “country club”. I recommend rolling hills for an executive course if you’re trying to get a quick round in over this place any day.
Return player
The new club house is very well done. The course itself went from being poor to fair. This would really become a great venue if the course conditions were improved a lot more. The course layout is interesting but the grounds need further improvement
Wonderful executive course
We love this course! We sometimes golf 9 holes and sometimes we golf 18 holes. The afternoon is the best time as it is usually pretty light. Sometimes you can go off the back nine instead of the front nine for a little variation if you're only doing nine holes. I have noticed recently that the fairways are not in the best condition with, with some weeds, but the course is so much fun it's easy to overlook this.
Great day, great course!
Beautiful day for our round of golf. The golf carts were ready and clean. The course was in great shape with water stations provided at various holes. The holes were well maintained from tee to green and offered approximately challenging experience.
The only knock I have is that you cannot bring the cart into the parking lot to load up your clubs. It is not far, however when folks have walking issues and are also carrying a portable oxygen tank, it makes it more difficult than it needs to be.
Great place to play, especially if you may be just learning or not very good! No pressure to rush!
FUN SHORT COURSE!
This was our first golf experience just arriving to Tucson. The course was well laid out and fun to play but you are competing with 'walking' players and in our case, they were beginners and extremely slow. There is no Ranger so it is what it is! They finally let the 2 of us play ahead after the 12th hole. Beautiful setting with mature landscaping. Nice golf shop and outdoor patio.
Good Course
Nice day on the course. Good course for iron practice
Great course.
We had a wonderful time. Great course, staff and golfers. Everyone so friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.
Great day for golf
We had a wonderful day playing golf. Paired with a great couple, enjoyed great conversations and wonderful course and weather. Will return.
FUN COURSE
For those of you who have NOT played Dorado for 3 years you will be pleasantly surprised what the new owners have started to achieve there.
The really old shabby proshop shack is gone and you are greeted with a stunning new building and new power carts and practice greens and the start to the first tee is modern and tidy.
Short course and small greens , BUT the playing surfaces ie: fairways & greens are in very good condition. We walked and found it very easy to get around. numerous drinking stations are there but NO ball washers YET.
Very nice course to practice your iron play and short game.
Will definately go there again to hone up on our wedge play.
All in all we had a great day , so do yourself a favour and go try it out.
cheers................michael
Keep looking...
Very short 18 hole executive course that took OVER FOUR HOURS to play. Pace of play is ridiculously slow. The gentleman running the pro shop was exceptionally grumpy. And if you read in other reviews that there is food at the course, that means hot dogs and chips only. Much better courses in the area for the same price.
Best Club House
Same owner... first time have been here since new club house. I will tell best in Tucson, fancy.
Golf I walked it, so if you can walk do so.
pace of play, course was packed and I was able to walk on as a single. I waited on front 9, but it was too bad
greens are OK, but it is winter
course over fairways over seeded and are nice
I was not in the bunkers.
It was really wind the day I played
Worst Course in Tucson
I would not be writing a review if I didn't have a horrible experience. The staff was extremely rude. The course was in horrible shape. Please save your money and go somewhere else!!!!!
Horrible course and Horrible Service!!!!!!!!
Lots of fun
This is a very fun short course. It's a par 3 and par 4 course where you should be able to drive some of the par 4 holes. With most of the holes reachable in 1, the pace of play is a lot faster then normal. I was behind a foursome and still played 18 holes in about 2 hours. This short course also gives you great feedback about your game. If you're not making par on this shorter course it will definitely help you figure out what you need to work on. So, whenever I'm short on time I'll be playing this shorter course.
Dorado golf course
A quaint par 3 that is currently under some minor construction. 3 holes are affected, but only by shortening the holes to around 100 yds to about 130 yds. Great course for iron work, with a few holes needing a fairway wood to reach the green, from the tee box. 2 holes actually need a driver for all but the longest hitters.
maybe you should try it now, since they made changes.
