Decent course, a fair test of golf
Tee boxes ok, but need some work. Greens are inconsistent...
Greens were faster then they have been in pevious seasons making the course much more challenging
Great course - poor amenities
My husband and I loved this course. Great course, although difficult. Pace of play was great. Course was in wonderful condition. But the amenities! This course has 3 nines. We played Road Runner and Coyote. There was one portopotty on the first 9. Nothing on the second nine. The starter didn’t tell us any of this. If he had we would have detoured to the clubhouse after the first 9. A very uncomfortable round of golf. This course is not new and not cheap. They need to improve their amenities.
Great golf experience.
Start Pass is a beautiful golf course. It is challenging but fair. Every hole is unique and fun to play.
This course is spectacular. Each hole is separate and challenging. there are four tee boxes so the length of the course can be tailored to your ability. You will use every club in your bag. There are no easy holes. The greens are for the most part small and fast. You will loose golf balls if you are not on the fairway. Avoiding penalty strokes is not easy due to the difficulty of the course. It was a great day of golf. .f
Starr Pass is difficult
Starr Pass is very difficult for the average golfer. There is VERY penalizing desert along the sides of the fairways. There are long carries over very penalizing desert between tees and fairways and in front of the greens. The "waste areas" are so dense with cactus that you cannot retrieve balls. You can see dozens of balls but they cannot be retrieved because the dense foliage has not been removed. There are very severe elevation changes that also make the areas siding the fairways and across the ball path inaccessible. If you are not a pure striker of the ball, plan to lose at least 10 golf balls. Tees and fairways were in good condition. Greens were much too firm, not holding even well hit short irons. Greens were pocked with unrepaired ball marks.
This course had great views and great pace of play.
This course’s on course bathrooms needed some attention!! The greens were in descent shape but had tons of unrepaired ball marks.
Gorgeous Scenery, Punishing Hazards
Beautiful setting in western Tucson. Interesting elevation changes. Many blind shots that can lead to disaster if shot not proper length and direction. 3 nines, and my GPS device worked on only Roadrunner 9, not on Rattler 9. Didn’t play Coyote 9. I’d recommend a printed course guide and more sprinkler head distance indicators.
Starr Pass Golf Course
Great course. Fairways perfect. Greens need some care. Medium speed and very bumpy. Some of the staff in the bar and course Marshall’s need to learn some manners.
Immaculate fareways and greens
The course is tough but enjoyable. Understanding the layout and the hole placement after a few holes significantly improved my score.
Course in fair condition. Fairways were excellent. Tea boxes, greens and sand traps were below average to average. Greens scarred, lots of cup marks and light in grass in spots. Sand traps were rough and light on sand.
Great golf course
It's always a treat to play Starr Pass. The course offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities. If you are playing well, you can score. If not, well, be pregared for a long day. As always the course was in immaculate condition.
Excellent, Except for Greens
Beautiful, challenging course in very good condition, except for greens. They were not in good condition and did not appear to be well cared for. At one point I found myself putting over a hole that had been relocated with such sloppiness that there was a very noticeable depression where the plug had been inserted. At the $58 GolfNow price it was a very good value; at their regular price I would choose a different course.
Very nice course with a wide variety of holes. Didn’t shot very well and still enjoyed the round. Better hit the fairways on this course!
True Golfer Test
Great challenge. Premium course with excellent conditions and service.
Great value for the price. A must play destination.
