Great challenging course lacking in amenities
Really enjoyed the course - excellent condition, friendly staff BUT no on-course washrooms or ball washers. Also no beverage cart even though we were assured there was.
Not for your typical golfer
This course has beauty and interesting holes. However, if you are above a 5 handicap, you need to play from forward tees because of the narrow fairways and forced carry over ravines. Because of the lack of walking the course (too much space between holes) difficulty for all but the best players and slow play (5 hours), I can't recommend it.
Had a good time.
Enjoyed the course, great time to play in Arizona, at a decent price.....for us locals.
Very challenging course, staff friendly and helpful. Target golf , would help to play course a few times to know yardages to hit
Tucson 5 Star golf club
I always play Starr Pass while in Tucson. Great friendly staff in all departments. The layout is bueatiful and challenging. Play the correct tees to enjoy your round. Today was a great day. I will dream of this course when shoveling snow this winter. You will not be sorry you played here.
Great Value Great Course
Course was in great shape . Played round in 3 hrs 15 min. Friendly staff and great food .
Challenging but fun!
Course was in excellent shape after overseeding. Pace of play was perfect. Played as a twosome with guy the marshall paired me upon arrival. Clubhouse staff was friendly and welcoming. We played Rattler/Roadrunner. Plenty of challenges to choose clubs for different shots. Not always driver which is a great way to play. Greens roll true but not super fast. Can’t wait to play again!
Venue is well worth the price on GolfNow. Very nice driving range and putting green. The staff is very customer oriented and the starter a “hoot”. GPS download a must as this is a challenging track and it helps for selecting shots, especially off the tee box. The pace of play is the only downside for this venue, no Marshal on course to monitor slow groups.
5 Starr golf experience
This is an excellent course with very unique hole layout. Many of the reviews I read talked about losing balls to blind shots. This course layout forces the golfer to use all the clubs in your bag. The scenic views from the tips are beautiful. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to play in Tucson.
Played in 3:45 @ a leisurely pace - course in good condition - yardage book was right on - would definable play again - great day.
Great, but Difficult Course
I played this course once before and loved it, but found it to be a very difficult course. With elevation changes to be factored into every shot after the tee shot, getting a handle on how to play this course is difficult to say the least. I found the course to be just as difficult the second time around. In fact, I let it begin to affect my game through the middle section of holes. The fairways and greens are in superior shape, the views are some of the best in Arizona, but this is not a course for beginners at all. Most intermediate players are going to get confounded at one point or another on this course. And I suspect good players are going to need to play this course more than once to get to a decent score. That said, golfers by nature like a challenge and that is certainly the proposition presented by this course.
From the moment we checked in, we couldn’t be more pleased. Pro shop was friendly and professional. Range was top notch. The course was challenging. We played Rattler/Roadrunner. My partner played from the golds and I played from the reds. Great condition, fast undulating greens. Fairways were green and smooth. Awesome views from every hole. Glad to play with some locals that offered advice on each hole. Would definitely play here again. Drinks and food on the patio were fantastic. Try the brisket burnt ends.
Too many blind shots and badly designed holes Expect to loose a lot of golf balls even if you are a good golfer
Very nice course
Not much to complain about here. Staff, course, cart all good. Make sure to come early as range balls are included. Beer is a bit pricey though.
They are in the process of over seeding, but is in great condition. Greens very quick.
Too many blind shots...........without much help.
No GPS on carts. No course map on scorecard.
Love a challenge but a little help might help.
