The course was over seeded but still beautiful setting. I thought $69 for rental clubs was a bit excessive but other than that it was a nice day.

Dry and hard fairways, long greens. I understand it is after over seeding but we were still charged full price. Have played here over 30 times, usually amazing, not this time.

I have played a number of desert courses and this one ranks near the top for value, thanks to golf now.com. There are three separate 9's and the two we played were both really great. Both had interesting holes, nice vistas and enough challenges to make it fun without killing you!

Played here before albeit a long time ago and its change a bit I rember it being target golf over rocks not any more maybe thats rattlesnake.

Everyone nice and friendly as you would expect nice wide driving range as part of green fee so get there early. Couses in great condition and recently been overseeded one was cart path only and the other 90’ rule no big deal ecept for the 90+ heat.

I really love starr pass dont know why because I dont score well but i could play it day after day. Especially since its good value.

Coyote 9 has interesting elevation changes and hole directions but it's in front of you. Moving to the Rattler 9 was very difficult. Blind tee shots and on 3 holes forced carries. Would have been helpful if a yard book or holes layout cards would have been provided so you knew where to lay up to and how long the forced carries were. Bunkers were like concrete. Needed a first cut from fairway length to 21/2 inch rough. Clubhouse needed to instruct 3 some's that there are 4 some's in front and not hit into them. We played in 41/2 hours as a 4 some, 3 of which played from the red tee's and were pushed all 18 holes. Marshals said nothing to them.

Booked a tee time here last minute. Course is beautiful set and n the desert hills of Tuscon. Staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Course has a great layout, many challenging holes, and with the cacti and rocks surrounding the course it was difficult if you can't keep the ball on the course, very unforgiving. There is wildlife all over the course. I would come back and play this course every time I am in the area. Could not believe how nice the course was for the price, would have paid double what I did and still been happy with the round. If you are in the area come check this place out.

A little tight and the greens could have used some work, a tad slow and bumpy but overall a spectacular layout. it helped a lot to play with a local as there are many blind shots.

Played the Blacks (70.7/135/6331) on the Rattler/Roadrunner 9's in 3H. The weather was overcast and well into the 90's by the time I was finishing around 9:30.

The customer service was excellent from all encountered, especially Mac the starter and Adam in the Pro Shop. Nice grass driving range that is included with your fee complete with a good chipping/practice green area.

My 1st time here, I was advised beforehand that this is not the course to play to lower your handicap. Even though this course is not long, it is tight with lots of semi blind shots. The 135 slope from the next to the back tees was well deserved. Many forced carries over nativescape hazards, and every hole has red or white stakes down both sides. Also numerous holes where you cannot see the green from the tee, having played the course before would be a huge asset.

The Bermuda tees were mostly good, however several had large patches of hardpan.

Same for the Bermuda fairways. 95% was good bordering on excellent... the other 5% was bare ground, with nothing in between.

The Bermuda rough was lush and penal because the ball usually sat down in it.

The sand traps were a clay dirt mixture that looked good and they played excellent, immaculately maintained.

The mostly elevated green complexes still showed the effects of a recent punching. However, they putted better than they looked, medium speed and fairly smooth. I saw the lines well on these greens and had a good putting day.

This is desert target golf on steroids. A course to play if you want to be tested. Definitely not a course for beginners or someone who cannot get the ball in the air or hit it fairly straight. Recommended with all the above in mind.
