Short but fun
South Course is under going renovations. Pace of play was excellent, our twosome played in 3 hours on a Friday afternoon.
Jack Clark golf course
Decent course for weekend play. Course is a but rundown and under renovation, but a pretty good weekend deal.
South course
The course is getting ready to be renovated, good green and fairways. Will be a great course when completed.
Not the best even for a public course
First, I have to say I got a great bargain on the green fee which included a cart.
That said, even with the amazing discount I would not have played the course if I had been told that the course was in the the process of a major construction project. Mounds of dirt everywhere and brown fairways made the round not worth it at any price!!
$25 with a cart on a Friday morning in 3:45!
I am glad I finally played the course before the renovation. A great facility and value!
Great Value
For the twilight price, it can't be beat. Fairways and greens are pretty well maintained, and it's overall a great practice course.
Be warned for the next year or so
In case you don't know and aren't a regular player in Alameda....Construction has begun on the Jack Clark course...there is a BIG mountain of dirt on the #5 hole which turns it from a wide fairway to a narrow one. I understand there is more changes coming over the next year. The other and newer course seems ALWAYS pretty crowded and play is slow...The JC is slightly better pace it seems to me.
Still charging full price while working on course
I have played this course at least 50 times in the last few years. It has always been in poor condition, but the value and quick rounds made it appealing.
Playing yesterday, there are huge dirt piles everywhere, getting ready for major changes. The greens were in great shape, but the rest of the course is dry, full of weeds, and not well maintained. I can except most of these negatives, but since last year, they have raised their prices. I can understand all the new development costs money, but it's not right to charge more than last year when the conditions are worse than last year. I will wait for changes to be done before playing here again. Not worth the money.... I can find half the price on lots of courses around the bay that are not undergoing construction....
Green practice range and staff was very friendly
The fairways are in bad shapes with brown spots and bare areas. The greens seemed to be ok and doable.. The course is in sad shape due to the drought we are having..
I will only play here on the Gilfnow hot deal.
Pace of play
Marshall did a great job problem solving as we got stuck behind a slow foursome of five.
very good course
the course is very nice it's just not that pretty the fairways can use new grass to make it a nice looking course.
Excellent value for a single
The only East Bay course that allowed a single booking. The course was in fine shape a week after The Commuters tourney. On course construction altered a couple of holes and created a bit of dust. Good pace of play and friendly Ambassadors. All in all a good experience.
Play here for the greens. Subtle and quick
Played here a couple of days before the start of the Commuter's tourney so they had it in as good shape as possible with the highlight being the excellent condition of the greens. Course needs lots of work which they have already made plans for in a re-do.
Great day for golf
Got to start earlier than stated tee time. Played with regulars and we had a great time. Some construction going on on the course but it was not disruptive. Looks like some maintenance is being deferred because of plans to shut down 9 holes in the near future.
Poor condition
The course is not in good condition. I m not sure if thats because lack of rain or something else except for the greens.
Good value
$37 for 18 holes with cart is a good deal. The course is flat, pretty straight and not very challenging. I played Jack Clark and had a good time, but there definitely is some maintenance that needs to be done. The course doesn't seem to drain well, so there was a good bit of mud and puddles from the rain early in the week.
