This course is is good to try for your 1st or 2nd 18 holes
This course is a great place to play if you want to try 18 holes. Great driving range and it's easy to follow the map of the course.
played early
played early greens had a lot of moistchur on them at least u could see the line other than that the course was in good shape
Fun But Dated
This review is for the Jack Clark (South) Course, the slightly more difficult of the 2 18 hole courses at this complex. Greenway Golf has done a good job since taking over operations. The course conditions and especially the greens are better than they have been for many years. That's not to say the course is in excellent condition, it is not. However, it is scheduled for extensive renovations later this year by Rees Jones, so I can understand why they are not dumping any money into what would be temporary upgrades. The fairways are also better, but still are not good. However, that is at least partly due to the season. While it may have been unseasonably warm this winter, it is still winter and some of the grasses have gone dormant.
poorly maintained and in the process of renovation
It is located at prime location but the course was very poorly maintained probably due to new renovation of the course is in progress.
The course was a mess !
I have played here a several times and have always enjoyed the course. This time was a disappointment as there is no excuse to allow play when the place was littered with tree branches, trimmings and other debris. It is also a hazard and such that it should cause alarm to the management.
Very fun and playable Muni
The course is in decent shape and the greens very receptive but still rolled fairly well. Pace of play was good and the course was very enjoyable
Fun day!
Is there a way to let players know that the other course is busy or not in use? I reserved online but it would be nice to know if there is a tournament happening. There were some crunchy patches but the rains should come and fix that!
Course Needs Some TLC
Played this course on Labor Day. Price was right, under $30 with cart. I had played at Chuck Corica Golf Complex before (Earl Fry) but never the southern course (Jack Clark). Jack was touted as the tougher and longer course.
The pro shop was not calling tee times, and there was no starter, so we negotiated on the first tee as to whom we would be playing with (I had a 2 some). Definitely got what we paid for. The course needed some TLC - dirt patches were abound. The first green was receptive and fast, but the other 17 greens just didn't match up to that first green. The guys we played with "decided" to play the tips with us (horrible decision not encouraged by my playing partner and me) and that absolutely added to the length of the round. With that being said, you cant go wrong for $27 on a full 18 hole course. And I will add that with the wind, the course played much longer than the scorecard indicated. I would only recommend this course if you can get out for cheap. I would also say check out the Earl Fry course if you can as it is in better shape.
This course has gone downhill
Overall, this is the worst golf outing I've had this year ! Actually it's been a long time since I've had such a bad outing. The course is in awful condition. Fairways have either no grass or to much grass. The greens are very bumpy and slow. And the customer service is rude and not helpful with no on course management to prevent slow play. Time was, when this course was a great place to play.
Great value!
Booked online for 5:50 pm, showed up early and were given the option for either course whenever we were ready. The course was in great condition and not difficult to play.
One suggestion for first timers would be better signage/directions to the next hole, as it was not always obvious.
open play
we were able to go out sooner than scheduled...they had a youth tournament going on as well...it didnt impact our play...
enjoyable time...
Course is in very bad condition.
Course is in very bad condition. You can drive your cart around anywhere which is what people might be doing. I saw not a single cart sign. Grass is not green or is missing in several places on every hole.
great greens!
I played the Jack Clarke course. The fairways need work but the greens are in great shape. Medium speed greens that are pretty smooth! The layout is a little confusing, since the cart paths intertwine with some of the other course. Most of the rough is bermuda, can be a little difficult to advance the ball.
Decent value!
2nd week in a row we havel played there and it was just as good as remembered
We took the same guest and played the same courese for a second week in a row, having a great time
18 holes for $20 was worth it.
I would have been disappointed if I had paid the full price.
Sneaking out for a quick round
Very nicely kept greens. Fast and rolled true. Some of the fairways could use a little work, but no big deal. I would play Chuck Corica again.
nice layout, needs a little attention, way too slow
Course is great value. Moderate weather on Alameda, sunny, nice breezes away from san francisco fog. Some areas on fairway were pretty beat up, needs attention. Need marshalls out there to speed up play. 5 hour round for 6200 yard course is not pleasant.
The greens are great!
The course is in good shape compared to three months ago. I'm surprised the greens are all in excelent condition and well maintained. I like playing on fast greens and this is one of the best greens that i've played in months.
The fairway is begining to dry up and would need some attention on the approach area around the green. I'll will not hesitate going back to Chuck Corica if I'll be invited again or if there's good rates.
Facilities -- Although the driving range is under renovation I thought the management should also consider the restrooms and the cafeteria in their rehab plans...This will be a great attraction to new customers.
