The tee off groupings on this course at 12:30 pm were:
solo,solo,duo. triple, solo
The golfers themselves were nice enough and understood rules but the course needs to group people when situations like this arise.
excellent!
it was rather a great day for a round of gold. friendly staff, above avg coursepace was great sand we finished in a little bit less than 4.5 hrs
flat fair fun.
7:37 am Sunday moring tee time, parking lot nearly empty, no waiting at driving range, check in was smooth, putted at practice green while we waited for a twosome to join us. Dan and Dan played with us , nice guys. Our foursome had no touble keeping up with a fivesome in front of us, we really didnt have to wait much. My partner and I played OK only 2 double boggys total for both of us. We should have broke 80 but 82 to 84. I got the nassau, front back and total.
Decent course, greens were in GREAT shape, good value
It was a beautiful, sunny, almost 70 degree day and the course was dry. Greens were terrific but the fairways were flat and somewhat burned out. My son and I were somewhat disappointed in the layout, having expected something a bit more challenging. That said, it was a perfect tune-up course and my game sure needs tuning up.
I'd recommend this course to others for the reasons mentioned above but, if you're looking for a challenging course, this one's not for you.
Good value
Course is in pretty good condition for a muni. Pace of play can be an issue if you get out in the late morning.
good++
green is poor condition
need improve and a lots a beginner
game is too slow....
Single Player With Cart
Played as a single on the front 9, paired up with a group on the back. Front 9 was wide open, wasn't waiting for the person in front of me nor was anyone waiting behind me. The course wasn't too challenging but wasn't too easy either. I thought it was a good value for the money, will play there again.
Great layout, poor condition
Large areas of no grass, dead grass, holes and ruts. The greens were very rough, wavy, and in generally poor condition. Tee boxes were difficult because of holes and ruts.
Not what it was.
The people who now run this golf complex apparently believe that their success will be achieved by attracting people who are not serious about golf. There is music blaring from the club-house which gives you something to enjoy while you are preparing for your first tee shot on either course and as you approach and putt on either either eighteenth green. Just like at a putt-putt course. Attracting the kind of player that thinks this is cool brings with it people who never fix a pitch-mark, never rake a bunker, get drunk and loud and have no concept of pace of play. Our 9am round took 5 hours and 40 minutes. The single player who joined our threesome quit after 14 holes. Not a likely repeat customer. As long as there is a good supply of yahoos to replace departing regulars, I guess the management won't care.
The course is going through some transition with management
The two courses have great potential. There is new management and they are getting a handle on course maintenance and design, until then, the courses are an average play. I predict they will elevate the difficulty of the courses with the planned remodel and then raise the green fee thus pricing out the locals,
Greens were sponges.
the greens were nothing like their practice greens, greens were soft, spongy & slow. Speaking of slow, it was a 6hr round. saw the beverage cart only once. the men's restroom was a mess.
Great home course!
We play this course quite a bit as it is a midway point for our group. The course is in good condition as are the electric carts.
Both the North and South course have great looks and will challenge your mid-iron play, not necessarily a long ball hitters course(s).
The facilities are nice. I really enjoy the restaurant and the putting areas. The range could use some work (the targets etc). The mats and pitching area are in good shape.
Overall, I love this place and consider my home course!
A good tuneup course for your game. Not a lot of trouble to deal with.
Not a bad course to work on your game for the average golfer for a decent price (<$50). Only real criticism is that the greens are very slow and don't roll very true.
Very nice greens
This course has new management and it is really beginning to show. The bunkers are improved as are the greens. Tee boxes are cut better. Just need to get rid of the rodents that are burrowing holes in the fairways and get rid of the geese. The overall improvement of the course is very noticeable. The staff are very friendly. It is nice to see the cart girls out on the weekend and it would be great if they could have them out during the week. The clubhouse restroom needs a little improvement in the Men's room. I am glad I am not short.
Average muni style course
Light crowd for a beautiful Friday. Played well and finished early.
Fun and Forgiving
I can hit a few wayward shots and still have a chance to score pretty well. There are lots of fun and not too long holes.
Average muni....
Just your average municipal...however the staff was AWESOME!!!
Fast paced but course need attention
I was looking for a nearby course that was cheap (with a cart) so that I could recover from walking 45 holes the day before. $20 for a noon tee time during the weekday was a deal. Now I know why. The course needs attention. There were lots of bare areas in the fairway. Greens were okay. On a more positive note, the pace of play was awesome. I played as a single and didn't catch up to anyone until the 15th hole.
Great Day in Alameda
My son and I went out and played the Jack Clark Course at the Chuck Corica facility a couple of Saturdays ago. We both really enjoyed the course (it was my 3rd time to play it, 2nd time in 2 weeks). The first time I played JC was in mid-2011 and the course really needed some work. The maintenance crews have done a better job as of late, but the bunkers are still less "sand traps" and more "dirt pits". I'd really like to see some fresh white sand laid in those traps. Otherwise, the greens, fairways and tee boxes were all in good shape. (I know, "then don't hit into the sand traps!")
Anyways, I really like the value that you get for the course. While the Early Fry course is a bit more challenging and seems to be better maintained, I still believe the JC course deserves your attention to play on a weekend.
