What a beautiful course

my 12 year old son and I had a blast playing CVR! We are from MN and play a lot of golf and were soooo impressed with the staff, course layout and the condition of the course. The greens were rolling to at least an 11 or 12, which was so fun. the back 9 which was through the rolling hills of CVR was breathtaking. the Pro Shop was very welcoming as well. We'll definitely be playing CVR again when we travel back to the central CA coast.

Spectacular views

Course was in fantastic condition, tee boxes were like hitting off of carpet, fairways were in great shape, greens were fast and undulating! Course is not super long , 6200 from the tips , but you have to play smart, greens are where your strokes will add up! Definitely recommend and definitely will play again

Scenic Back Nine

We’ll maintained course. Front 9 mostly flat. Back 9 has 5 holes on the hillsides. Would not recommend walking this course. Excellent course conditions.

Lack of disclosure

A huge disappointment. When i booked this time, there was NO indication of any course maintenance. Usually the golfnow website indicates this circumstance.
In addition, the back nine was closed, so one had to play the front nine twice. And it had the greens aerated and sanded probably one day before, so virtually unplayable. One of my playing companions quit after nine holes, just as i did. He too did not see anything about course maintenance when he booked the round.
Worse golf experience in years. Should have been told the condition of the course prior to booking. This is either a golf now error or course error in posting info on website. Will see if any accountability will be assumed.

Course is nice and well maintained. But was not notified when booking that the front nine was closed for aerification. Only back nine open and pace of play was really slow. Left before finishing 18 holes as it would have taken too long to enjoy.

Must Visit if in Monterey

Definitely a must play in the area. Located about 20 minutes from the main stretch in Monterey, getting in is a little confusing. Once you arrive the clubhouse is very nice. The driving range leaves a little to be desired, during our visit it was mats only and it’s restricted to 200 yrds and under. Warm up area/range and carts were included with the greens fee. The course was in great shape! Surrounded by mountains and woven through neighborhoods and a vineyard, there is plenty to look at between shots. The fairways were perfect, the rough was tough but well kept. Greens rolled fast but true and there were some large greens/challenging pin placements during our visit. Definitely will be back on future visits to the area. I would highly recommend.

Very interesting course

We looked at the score card, distance from back tee is only 6100. But it’s very challenging to play, not to mention there are two holes that need to hit 200 yards carry to pass water hazard. This course has different challenges on different holes. Condition is very good, staffs are very nice. Also you may want to come early to practice at the range- it’s all grass and included
