NiceCourse
Really nice course for everyday play. Not super hard, actually wide fairwasy, short par 4's. Greens a little tricky. Ealry part of year, Rough was moed down. Tees had some work being done. I really enjoyed the day.
Should have a cart rate on golf now
I find it confusing that the course has a good rate and you arrive and find out it’s walking and $25 more to ride
Thumbs up
This course was very nice, the layout, condition of the course and staff were all very good. Only thing negative would be the pace of play, it's glacierly slow and the cart paths need some work. All in all it was a great day of golf. Thumbs up!
Spectacular views
One of my favorite courses to play, challenging, the course is still in its winter dormant condition, my only concern is the golf cart paths are in drastic need of repair
Much improved
It’s kind of tough for me to review Laguna Seca …this course has always treated me well and my last review was a total rant. The greens are much improved from my last review.I will have to add Poa greens thrive in the dead of winter so I was glad to see them back to health. The fairways were pretty sweet with a good tuft.Again, the winter rains pay off here and the drainage usually isn’t much of a problem with the side hiill layout of this course.the restaurant and pro shop staff are on point.
Hole 15 challenge
Great hole to test your abilities. If u par it you are ready to tour w the celebs
Unreasonable charges and No rain check
The day I play suddenly quite a rain start and asked for a Rain Check however the staff refused I'm the only player on that course.
My wife is with me as a spectator but I got to pay $20.00 even though it was raining as well as no such a view was visible due to the cloud and fog.
What a business mind with them!
ouch
whole course needs a lot of attention from the green staff... fairways not too clever, greens need relaying, tees messy. A good course spoiled by all this .
Sad
Sadly, laguna sea is suffering. The course has fallen behind big time. The fairways are passable, but the rest of the key elements are in need of some major "Tender l.oving care".
Greens have a mottled effect from several types of grass, are bumpy ion the afternoon. The bunkers are appalling and in need of a total refurbishment. Hard pan sand with stones is not ideal. The tee's are about the only fair element on the course now.
It used to be smashing and a real asset to the Monterey Peninsula.... the owner needs to address these points soon.
Great Layout with average conditions
The layout at Laguna Seca is fantastic with an excellent variety of holes. Track is set on a hills side so almost every hole has some sort of elevation change.
Fairways were in good condition with ample coverage throughout. We played late afternoon and the greens were pretty bumpy. Hopefully they are a little better in the morning. Prices are a bit steep for the current conditions but not too ridiculous. Sand traps have good amount of fluffy sand.
