I will miss this course
I have played this course many times. It's not perfect but it's a good solid golf course
Too Bad AC is closing!
Course in fabulous shape!
Great layout,
Nice challenging course, greens were in great condition, course overall condition excellent. Have a great time
Beautiful course to play
Was a good time slow as packed the course but in their defense all other courses had tournaments so I appreciated that they didn't. Great corse freindly peeps and grass was green
Adobe outing - 8/23/2016
Very enjoyable, sub-four hour round. Great value for a course fairly well maintained. Need to update the food and beverage offering.
NBothing special
Played here on 8/22/16. Called in advance to inquire about the condition of trhe course. I was told that the course was "in great condition, and the greens are excellent"!
Well..... the course was spotty at best. Fairways ranged from very wet in some spots (with standing water in places) to bone dry and bare dirt in others. And as far as the greens go, they were very "furry" and slow, not anywhere close to "excellent"!!! The only thing that kept this rating from being even lower is that we found a deal on Golfnow.com for only $24 including cart. And even at that, considering the shape of the course, it wasn't that great of a deal. The best thing was that it wasn't busy at all, so we played in right about 4 hours! It will be a while before we go back!
Adobe
Fair course. Pretty good shape. A bit soggy in spots. A few tough holes, but overall easy, wide open. Greens in good shape.
Week Day Play
Adobe Creek was a great choice to take my friend on his first golf outing since retiring last Wednesday. We began at and ended around noon.
Course is in very good shape. Being a week day, it was not crowded. We are both a bit older and suffer from minor disabilities, and allowed other groups to play through so we did not delay anyone. However, as it turned out, we were not holding anyone up. Really good bounce and roll on the fairways. Greens were not too fast or too slow. Bunkers not compacted. I live close by and have played here often. The more difficult holes are still as difficult as always. Bring extra balls as it is important, and a course rule, not to go into the creek to retrieve an errant shot. This time of year there are many ticks in there anyways, so use one of you special older "water" balls you might not mind losing. They have posted "carts on path only" signs on a couple of holes (#7).
Brother in Law outing
I'm a bogey golfer and my BIL hadn't played in a year. I chose this based on the slope from the whites (116) and proximity to downtown Sonoma (as well as previous reviews here). We started early on the range (nice to hit from grass) and were invited to start a few minutes early by the pro shop, allowing us to play by ourselves. I've forgotten his name, but in several ways, he made us feel very welcome. Course was in good shape, with fair lies and manageable rough. course contours made the game fun and interesting. We had to think on each shot which made it fun, but missed locations weren't terribly punitive. we played in 4:15, even though we waited a tiny bit on several holes for the foursome ahead of us. The pro shop building is so small, I thought I was at a driving range rather than a full golf course.. but, they stuff a ton of resources into that small space so we wanted for nothing. at the turn, could use more restroom options (or, perhaps, better signage?) You know if I'm reaching for restroom suggestions there was little to complain about!
Stay in the fairway. Greens are great.
It's in great condition. Bunkers are very playable.
Adobe Wonder
We haven't played Adobe Creek in about a year. At that time the course was in terrible condition. What a transformation. The fairways and greens were the best I've seen ever. Even the traps (a former eyesore) were fair and playable. It could use better off course amenities, but they're trying. We'll be back there soon.
Great condition
I believe this course was recently upgraded. A bit easier but it was pristine conditions. Excellent greens fairways and fair roughs. A pleasure to play there The course is tough but very fair Again the greens and fairways just excellent. Great value
Very Good Conditions
The course has come back very nicely after all of the rain. Fairways were firm, the grass was good, and the greens were pretty smooth even with sand still on them from a recent top dressing.
Adobe Creek
This course has a great layout but the course condition is very mediocre. The course amenities are poor because there is no restaurant or bar attached available at the course.
Adobe Creek Review
The course was overall is good condition. The greens and fairway's were excellent. The only issue was that when they cut the rough earlier in the week they left the grass clipping. The clipping were brown and covered the rough and made it difficult to find a ball. The course should in the future remove the clippings
Adobe comeback
It's nice to see this course on the way back. I played last fall and it has come long way since then. Greens were punched 12 days ago yet had healed like after 3 weeks. The rough is tough and the fairways are getting full. Was stuck behind a very slow group and pro shop said they couldn't do much, but would try. Nobody was sent so the pace was a negative to an otherwise good outing.
Too much grass
Finding your ball has always been a challenge at Adobe Creek due to the numerous mounds lining the fairways. When the grass clippings predominate as they did on Thursday (mar 24th) it becomes very frustrating. Way too much time spent wandering through the mounds, covered in grass clippings, to find balls. Course very soft due to recent rains, greens and fairways in good shape.
course is making a comback
the course was in good shape. the rough was rather thick and the greens were a little slow but i think the recent warm weather after rains led to some fast growing grass. The mowers were out in force during our round. I hope the course stays the course and maintains the course throughout the summer and returns it to being a good dependable golf track as it once was years ago.
The Course is in Great Shape!
We started early so pace of play was not an issue. But it was COLD to start out. Also they are leaving the fairways longer than normal so there was not as much run after the ball hit the ground. Greens were somewhat fast. But the roughs are being left TOO long. Hit it int he fairway or prepare to drop on a lost ball!
