The Bayonet at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course

I’m selfishly hoping that people don’t check out these courses. They have it in great shape and the Golf Now value was phenomenal. Wonderful package. Thanks everyone!

Great layout!
The only thing missing were many intimidating trees! I understand nothing stops Mother Nature! The course was closed for a few weeks for cleanup after a severe winter storm! Some trees were removed, many were trimmed severely! I know they will grow back and the narrowness will come back! Maybe not what it once was but I’m hoping it will grow back close to the Bayonet I remember it once was!
All in all, it’s still the one of the best public 36 hole in Northern California coastline!

I called maybe 2 weeks before I reserved my tee times and asked about aeration of the greens and was told they would be in great shape by the time I had reserved, they were not even close, they were bumpy and had a lot of sand still on the greens, I wouldn’t have golfed if I new they were that bad.

The course is beautiful, conditions are great. The experience I had (2nd time playing here) was very disappointing.

Firstly, the greens were recently punched and covered with sand. There was no warning or information about this prior to booking. I was surprised there was no alert.

Second, I left my range finder attached to the cart. I drove the cart up to the return, emptied my trash, and an attendant took the cart. I realized I left it that evening. I called the course and the pro shop employee was insanely unhelpful. He basically said “yah I dont see it right here in front of me I dont know what to tell you.” Its my fault I left it and I am disappointed in myself for doing that, but the response and help from staff was so unfortunate.

Course is beautiful and in great shape. There is a ton of construction and tree work being done. Extremely noisy

Bayonet is in the best shape I've seen in the 10 years I've occasionally played there

Move to the marina area haven’t played golf for four months. Went back to my old favorite band and black forest. The conditions were fabulous. The greens were perfect. The fairways were perfect. The staff is always the best in an area where you have fantastic choices it still delivers and I think it is the first choice when you come to the Monterey area keep it up guys.⛳️👍

Love how they've opened up the course with tree removal and trimming. Looks a lot like Harding Park.

With all the great choices in the Monterey area, it is always consistently the best. The staff is so outstanding friendly and always up to par a must play when you’re in the Monterey area either being at or black horse two great golf courses.

Overall was very nice experience. There were noises coming from all the construction on the course. They were annoying.

A really nice layout. Course conditioned especially the greens were excellent. If I ever return to the area I would play again.

It is a great course. I hope I get a chance to come back and play. Next time I would like to also play Black Horse.
