Good course but not for walking
When we arrived the staff was very helpful and the course was in good shape except for the wet spots left from recent rains. Course holes are nice but you have long distances between holes so would not recommend walking it. Very scenic views on this course.
Will come back
Stayed in Amelia for the weekend and wanted to play golf. I saw the positive reviews about the Ocean Links course and they couldnt have been more accurate. The Atlantic Ocean views on the 5 or so holes were breathtaking. The conditions were pretty good (slow greens, but rolled true). A few tee boxes were in rough shape but tee to green was near perfect. Pretty views all day and the course tested every club in my bag. Will for sure play again if im in the area and maybe fit in a round on the Marsh Course too.
Ocean links is in great shape
I have played this course many times; is the best shape I have seen it.
Tricky
Tricky golf course and also pretty. Hilly tight windy. You can tell they had to fit the golf course into the available ocean property.
Winding trails....and WIND...WIND...
Looking for something different, then this is the course for you. Unfortunately, we had a day after a front had passed and the wind speeds on the coast were 25+ and that made the ocean holes very challenging...how about a driver on a Par 3!!!!
5 Holes run along the Atlantic and it was gorgeous...and challenging.
The other part of the course is just as nice asthetically, and all the advice given by the starter was true to the finer points.
The course is laid out quite well and the cart trails take you on a nature stroll from hole to hole.
Ocean Links
Great course. It's tight with small greens and you need to go with either an iron or a fairway wood off most tees. Lots of doglegs. Great views of the ocean on many holes and the course conditions were immaculate. Great deal on golfnow.
Greens are tough but fair.
I love the condition of the course. Staff friendly and play was fast. First hole was backed up so they sent me to the 7th hole which was great. The pace was fast and did noy have to wait on anyone at all.
The course had a good mix of tough holes and some birdie holes. The were a few ocean front holes that makes for a pleasant day.
Try it, you'll like it!
I've played this course before as well as several other area courses. Both the Ocean View and Marsh courses are in much better condition than any of their competitors. Even after 3+ inches of rain, the sand traps were groomed and fairways for the most part dry enough to allow carts. For the money, I don't think you can beat this for beauty, condition and helpful staff.
love the views
with 5 holes directly on the ocean makes awesome game.....clubhouse on the marsh side makes a good after stop
Good, difficult course
The course is short and seemed to be set up like an "executive" course. We decided to play the tips since it was only 6100 yds. This made the course significantly more difficult. A number of long carry drives, some blind tee shots, and a lot of elevated greens. A lot more challenging than it seemed.
Regardless, course was in pretty shape, and for the money it was a great round of golf!
Excellent setting with great pace of play
Fairways were in great shape, greens were true and quick. Played in the afternoon and did not have to wait for any shot all round.
beautiful course
I love this course but it's very difficult. The Ocean views are awesome. My husband and I love to play here. Highly recommend.
Fun, Tricky Course with Great Scenery
The Ocean Links course at Amelia Island was an excellent value for the price I paid through GolfNow "Hot Deals." I paid less than half of what they were charging resort guests! I know this because one of the guys I was paired with said he was charged $89 to play while I only paid about $40. As far as the course conditions go, the greens were in fantastic shape, but some of the fairways we quite baked out and bare-looking. The five holes that are along the ocean did not disappoint and were the definite highlights of the round. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming as well! This is a fun course, and is very unique for the Jacksonville area. Highly recommended!
great course
I highly recommend this course!! fun and somewhat challenging.
I was a bit surprised the carts did not have GPS, maybe due to the lack of signal strength for this lcoation
Awesome
All was great. Only issue was the beverage cart bailed after our first hole due to a fast moving storm. She was rude and stated she would not be back out. The storm was gone in 20-30 minutes and our tee time was 11:27. We ran into others that were asking about the beverage cart as well throughout the round. Awesome course though and look forward to playing again.
The ocean holes were great
The ocean holes were great, we don't play that kind of breezy golf where I usually play,There were enough tee boxes to fairly play to your handicap. It's a tight course with long par 3s from the tips. Can't wait to go back when the wind really blows. My favorite hole was 16.The fairways could have been better, im not sure what the problem was, they had an appearance like the whole course had been re-sodded, but overall totally worth the 1/12 drive.
Nice greens great scenic course
Golf course was in good shape greens rolled well snd wish we made reservations for 18 at the marsh, links course a must play for local and visitors who live inJacksonville
Nice Views. Tough Greens.
I have played this course several times. Challenging short holes, false front greens. I perfer Oak Marsh, more of a traditional golf course. Well worth the money if booked off of golf now.
