River's Bend Golf Club

The entire course was poor. Lost several balls in the fairway because the grass was too tall. Several of the courses had a large amount of grown up bushes that prevented sight of the flag. There was only one hole that water was available.

I've played this course a few times over the years and every time it gets worse. This should be one of if not the premier course in the area. The grass had not been cut in at least 2 weeks in a lot of areas. Every trap was grown over with grass/weeds. The bridges, fencing, clubhouse and pro shop are in need of repairs with rot, mold and mildew taking over everything. Every green is eat up with crab grass and bald spots. It's pitiful, very sad to see a course that was once so beautiful become such a dump.

Course is struggling. This course would be great if it received a little more TLC.

Golfed here years ago and loved it back then. Now, not so much. Conditions are bad. Greens are spotty and trashy. Fairways are overgrown where you have to search for your ball at times. The only good thing I can say is the carts are fast.

River's Bend was one of the premier courses in the area, but no longer. From the greens to the bunkers to the carts and everything in between, the course is in terrible shape. It's worth $20 if you want to beat the ball around, but nothing more. It's a shame to see such a great layout falling apart. I'd be shocked to see it open in 2015.

Save your money, the course is in terrible condition. Horrible tee boxes, awful greens and there is no difference between the rough and fairways.

Even though the price was cut rate, I must say this is.the worst course I have ever played. The tee boxes and fairways are mostly crab grass and other weeds and the greens are severely chipped up. Be prepared to lose your ball several times in the fairways...No kidding. The layout of course is good but it's marred by weeds and ruts everywhere. The driving range looks as though it hasn't been used in a year or more.

If I had to pay more, I would be disappointed. The course needs help. The greens are patchy and the rough is very high around the greens. Tee boxes are not well defined and manicured. This could be a great course again with some work.

Second time playing this course and the greens are getting some bare spots. Also, some of the tee boxes are bare and so hard that you cannot tee the ball. I will golf there only if there is a hot deal until course starts to improve.

Used to be good course, now just awful, not sure if 20 dollars is to much, shame

The worst golf course I have ever played on. The bunkers were full of grass. The fairways and rough looked the same., full of weeds and not maintained It used to be a really nice course. Now its no better than playing in an abandoned and neglected field.

Worst upkeep conditions I have ever seen. I would not play it again even if it was free. Decent designed golf course with beautiful views but the management has allowed it to go to ruins. If I was the designer, I would be angry that my name is associated with these conditions.

I have played here a couple times in the last 2 years and the course has been in poor condition atbest. I left before making to the first green. The grass was over growing the placement markers in the tee box, there was no difdifferentiation between the rough and the fairway. My first shot off the tee landed in the fairway and was nearly I'm possible to find. After punching out of this mess I was nearly on the green......more like the brown, with big bare spots and crab grass growing into the green. At this point I went back to the pro shopto ask for my money back and explain my concerns. " well what did you really expect for 20 dollar greens fee." Awful maintenance, if any. Rude staff. A waste of nearly 2 hours of travel. I will NEVER return to this dump!!!

Online this looked like an awesome course to play. I had a few hours before I drove back toWhen I got to the course, they did not have any carts for me. My Tee Times was at 11:00 o'clock. They told me that I would have to wait 30 minutes or more for a golf cart. They had a twosome waiting in front of me and I will go out after them, but they were waiting on carts too. I could not believe they would not pair us up. I believe it was the golf manager or club pro got in to a very heat discussion with a guest in of pro shop. I just left the course with out playing. They could keep my money, because it was not worth it. Definitely not a course I would recommend to anyone.

This course has been in decline for several years, bankruptcy, new management and now in receivership. Course was in pretty bad shape 2 years ago when I played it so really wasn't expecting much. I figured well $16.00 I guess it's worth trying again. Boy was I wrong, checked in asked to hit a bucket of balls and was told they were out of balls. Just as well the hitting area was an overgrown weed patch, which pretty much set the course for the day. Fairways overgrown with weeds, the rough hadn't been cut in weeks I'm guessing. God help you if your ball rolled out of the fairway because you couldn't find it. You needed a hammer to get the tee in the ground on the tee boxes, and you could find smoother greens on the surface of the moon. A couple of the tee boxes you had about 5 feet to hit your ball through because of the overgrown trees. NEVER Returning and wish I could have my money back because I really didn't enjoy it.

I enjoy the layout at River's Bend but the course conditions have declined over the years. Today, very rough greens, no sand in bunkers; just weeds and poor fairway and rough conditions.

Played River's Bend last week and was very disappointed with how the course is being maintained. They have lost or are losing every green. There is no sand in any of the bunkers. Weeds are growing in them. The fairways are the same as the rough. I will not be playing there again.

This is probably the worst golf course, condition wise, that I have ever played. The grass in the fairways looked like it had not been cut in over weeks. The bunkers were totally washed out and nothing but mud with overgrown grass in them. The driving range was waist high in grass. The greens were just awful, had plugs missing, diseased grass not barely playable. Some greens were lacking flag sticks and flags.There was not one single water cooler on the entire course. There was not golf ball one in the pro shop, about 3 shirts and a few hats as their merchandise. The wooden bridges for the carts to travel on were missing planks, the guard rail had missing sections. The grass along the fairways and beyond was not maintained and extremely tall. It would be in everyone's interest if the coordinates were given to the Navy and allow them to use this dog track as a practice bombing training area.

I played this course years ago when it was one of the better courses in the area so I was very disappointed with the condition of the course. The fairways resembled cow pastures, the bunkers where overgrown with grass and there was no water on the course. However with the low price on golf now (about the same cost of a large bucket at the driving range) it served its purpose PRACTICE... The course has a good lay out, I much rather play a practice round then hit a large bucket.... I would not recommend this course if this is your only round of the week, but if you like to play/practice and hate going to the range this is the course for you
