River's Bend Golf Club

The weather was great but the course needed work on the fairways and traps. The grass was very sparce on the fairways with many bare spots. The traps were hard, needed sand, and raked. The greens were a little slow and bumpy. I heard some good things about this course but I must have come on a bad day.

This could be one the best courses around. Great layout. Bunkers are in real bad shape. Great views on the course. Need to put more money into this course. Paid 14.00 for cart and 18 holes. Wouldnt pay that again unless its revamped. Oh and one more thing. Had a group of 4 that I caught up to on the 9th hole that wouldnt let me play thru. No one in front of them for 3 holes. Come on guys.......

Course was very slow playing and unless you have been there before you wouldn't know how to play the ball off the tee.

I got a hot deal on the greens fee. The conditions of the fairways and bunkers were pretty poor. Greens were fairly smooth. Has some nice views.

Many of the sand traps were not maintained. Most likely due to winter time. Other than that the course was in good shape and offered a lot of fun for me and my playing partner.

Great layout but no money being put back in the course Sand traps had more grass than sand in them. Fairways are full of weeds and you could easily lose your ball on them.

Although the bunkers required alot of attention, the cousre itself played challenging. Some fairways were sparse but that the naturre of the grass used. Greens were true and fair. Staff was well above the average and very freindly. We'll be back to play.

I had 12:00 tee time but no carts were available. Finally received one at 12:45.No marshalls to speed play so round finished at 6:15. Grass was growing in sandtraps and fairways were not maintained

I like the course layout except the clubhouse being at hole 5, and nothing to refresh after that. The greens were in outstanding shape and were the greenest thing there. The fairways are terrible and need some serious tlc. For $25, I couldnt complain too much, but i would not pay more until the course was freshened.

The greens were in good shape and ran fast. Most of the bunkers were overgrown, alot of weeds in the fairway. Clubhouse could use a coat of paint. I had a good time and would play it again but only with a golf now rate.

Course is in terrible shape. Grass/weeds in bunkers. Only way to tell difference between fairways and rough is length of weeds. $25 was too much to play. We wouldn't play again - no matter how cheap.

This course used to be one of the premier courses in Chesterfield, VA. For those of you who know what a dog track is, this is it. Maintenance of the course is poor. Greens are always in bad shape and the driving range is never open due to flooding from the James River.

The golf course was fairly dry due to the conditions of a hot summer, however you could easily see that the maintenance department had neglected certain areas of the course, as many of the tee boxes were burnt out, or had little grass, and the there was a vast amount of wild grass growing on the course, causing inconsistancy in fairway lies.

The course has a good variety of holes, with many having a great deal of character. With a little more attention to detail, this could become a destination of choice, however at the moment leaves visitors lacking that prestine feeling.

Great price.. easy to get on...after playing I understand. tee boxes are in terrible shape. no sand in trap-overgrown. .. fairways were poor for this time of year-- weeds!
Good- Price, greens were ok. staff was nice.. good to have cart girls during the week as there was no drinking water on the course.
Hopefully the course shape will imporve .. 16 is a mandatory layup hole... Hmmmm...
