South/North at Fernandina Beach Municipal Golf Course
About
South/North is one of three golf courses at Fernandina Beach Golf Club. The facility is home to three distinct nines that form three different 18-hole combinations. Winding through thick forests of oaks and pines, Fernandina Beach Golf Club's South/North course offers a glimpse at native Florida wildlife. The South nine depends more on accuracy rather than distance while the north nine, the shortest in length of the three, features undulating greens. Water hazards also come into play throughout the golf course. Fernandina Beach's 27 unique holes are made even more appealing by the affordable rates and convenient proximity to Jacksonville and the beach.

It's January!
Fun to play this early in the year. This muni course is ok for an early round. Long par 5s. Greens were ragged but that is to be expected. Fairways were fine. Good value.
Notable change in conditions
There has been a good turnaround in course conditions. I was presently surprised as last year the tee boxes were awful, bare and dirt spots throughout fairways and greens terribly.
While no comparison to oak Marsh the course conditions were in good shape that made for a nice round at very good rate. There is a new course team and they are doing a great job if this continues the course will be even better.
Fernandina Beach Golf
Now that the warm weather is moving in the course continues to improve. This is not a five star facility but I enjoy playing golf here. It’s not as easy as it looks. Good staff. No stupid holes.
Great course for the price!
It’s not perfect and the conditions could be better but for the price of a hot deal you couldn’t beat the price anywhere. I played 18 holes in just over 2 .5 hours. Tough layout but fun to play. The Toptracer Driving range was a plus at the end of my round.
Walrus
Tee boxes need a little work but overall, it was a fun course. Would definitely play course again.
Good fun course
This is a good fun course on Amelia Island. I have played here a bunch of times. Todays round was super fast pace of play (2 some and course was very quiet) tee boxes and fairways were in average or just okay condition. Greens were “normal”
Nothing special. Overall good round of golf
Not Bad
I would love to play this course more often. I've been reading ads re: how this course is in great shape after years of not being in great shape. Take my word for it, the course is as it was, and has been, for over a decade. It has not changed one bit. Terrible tee boxes, terrible greens covered in small growths of weeds (or whatever), and the fairways are semi-good (lots of dirt areas, lots of rough, needing more work grass, etc.). Saying that, I believe that this is a fairly standard municipal course. But they should sell 9 of the 27 holes thay have and make this a great 18 hole muni.
Poorly maintained.
The course in in poor condition, even considering that it’s early April. Tees are OK, fairways lack sufficient grass, greens are uneven in texture and cut. The layout is open to challenging depending on the hole.
