South/North at Fernandina Beach Municipal Golf Course
About
South/North is one of three golf courses at Fernandina Beach Golf Club. The facility is home to three distinct nines that form three different 18-hole combinations. Winding through thick forests of oaks and pines, Fernandina Beach Golf Club's South/North course offers a glimpse at native Florida wildlife. The South nine depends more on accuracy rather than distance while the north nine, the shortest in length of the three, features undulating greens. Water hazards also come into play throughout the golf course. Fernandina Beach's 27 unique holes are made even more appealing by the affordable rates and convenient proximity to Jacksonville and the beach.

Disappointing.
Could be much better . There have been recent improvements but doesn’t justify current green fees relative to local options
Not great
Nice staff and a good layout but the course is not in very good condition, even for February. Price is good gorwhat you get.
Great potential
The west and north courses were in pretty good shape. The south course needs time. South just needs to shut down so it can fully bounce back. I grew up playing these courses, so I know they can be great. You can see the great design and potential as you play, they just need some TLC. Staff are great and the range is top of the line.
Sub par experience
Course in extreme winter condition. Bare fairways and sanded greens. Though they rolled well, and were very playable Dated clubhouse
Sad greens
The course was nice and fairly easy for all levels but the greens are in very bad shape, The golf carts are very nice as well as the bathrooms
Struggling
I just arrived from Canada and wanted to get some practice before the round. Yes they had a top tracer but I likely have never paid that much per ball anywhere/ anytime. I was scrambling to my tee as I only had 30 minutes.
Ended up playing alone as my group had left early as there was no starter and the pro shop had no control.
The tees were awful and the fairways worse.
No real value for money. They only exist as they are the lowest priced alternative on the island.
Improving
The rough is still a pile of raw dirt, some of the fairways are poor, some are not that bad, bunkers are getting to be more consistent, and greens are very good. Overall it shows significant improvement over last January, but it still has a long way to go to warrant paying more than $25-30 a round.
South Nine in Poor Condition
We walked 18 holes on the West and South nines. The par 37 West features three par 5 holes. It's in reasonable condition and is fairly open. The South Nine has too many places of very rough tee boxes and inconsistent turf.
