Course was in great shape. Pace of play was slow. Would play this course again.
Great Sunday round
Enjoyed our Sunday afternoon round tremendously with a beautiful sunset!
Best course I have ever played
I have played golf at an average level all over the world for over 35 years - I’ve done St Andrews and Scottsdale and I can honestly say El Campeon was a fair test and the most attractive course I have ever seen
It was a pleasure to play and the staff were the icing on the cake
A ‘must play’
Played the El Campeon first and then followed on with Las Colinas. Pace of play on both courses superb, staff helpful and friendly, great value for money and both courses in tip top conditions. They are both so different and I would suggest to anyone who has the time try and play them both. We will be back that’s for sure.
Nice old course in very good condition
Played as twosome. Pace was rather too slow, almost 4 ½ hours. No player’s assistant out there to speed it up.. Course is in very good condition. Greens, fairways, bunkers and tee boxes well playable. Except the pace was a very good experience.
Challenging and very beautifull course
One of the most beautifull courses I ever played. El Campeone is very challenging with a Nice layout. Love this course.
I have played El Campeon a number of times and it has always been in exceptional shape. Tees, greens, rough and bunkers are uniformly well manicured. Campeon’s layout in rolling hills is truly unique for Florida and a great test for every caliber of golfer IF they play the correct tees. The course plays longer than the yardage due to the many elevated greens and the fact that, despite the rolling hills of the course, it is still basically at sea level which means the ball doesn’t fly as far. So, don’t hesitate to move up to a shorter set of tees than you usually play. The greens are very true and speedy but not overly so. The course requires all the shots and is a veritable gem not to be missed!
Course was in great shape. Greens were true and fast. Will be back
Florida’s mountain course
We have the pleasure of playing El Campéon in the afternoon. It wasn’t very busy, probably because it was so hot out. The course was excellent. There were rolling hills, old trees, really had to work in shape the ball to hit the fairway. The green complex which were tough, but fair. Just a beautiful course to play. Since there was hardly anybody out there, we were done around three hours. For the $30 fee, certainly I want to come back and play more often. The facilities were excellent with a nice practice area putting green. The staff was extremely friendly. The cart girl came around frequently. I just felt like we were taken care of. After the round, the 19th hole was also very nice. If you live in Florida, this course is quite different than anything else we have with the Rollinghills. Even though the course was a little wet from the recent rains you still fairly good rolls down the hill. Definitely a challenge and a shot makers course. I can’t wait to come back and play again.
The Champion wins again
The course was in great shape. As always it was challenging but fun to play. The elevation changes and n this course are amazing for a Florida course.
Never seen the course in better shape!
I always enjoy my experience at Mission Inn! The staff is super friendly and the course was in fantastic shape. The first and last hole were cart path only, after that it was perfect. Plush Tee boxes and fairways. Mint greens that were very quick above the hole. This is a firm test of golf. Highly recommend teeing it up here if you haven't!
The course was in great shape. The first hole was cart path only due to wetness, but still played ok. Pace of play was great and the greens were rolling fine. Looking forward to returning later this year.
All these hills in Florida?
Course has been wet due to all the rain, but in good shape. Greens were faster than expected. Its all you want in a layout - great golf experience!
El Campeon - Group Outing
Visited Mission Inn for the first time over the weekend for a group event. The El Campeon course was amazing. Loved the layout over the elevated terrain. Holes were fair and conditions were great, especially considering how much rain the area gets in August. Staff was very accommodating and our group really enjoyed both days we were on site.
Excellent Course, Value
Always a fun, challenging course, El Campeon is simply one of my favorites in the Orlando area. I've played 90% of the courses within 100 miles, and the layout, condition, price and people are always top notch. Some of the course was wet, and under repair, but it did not impact playability. This course can go LONG, so don't be afraid to play up a set. DON"T MISS EL CAMPEON!
Great layout (El Capeon)
Great golf course. Always in great shape. Wide variety of holes..
Best course in central Florida
There are a lot of golf courses in central Florida. For that matter there are a lot of great golf courses in Florida, but this course is above the rest. Challenging, fun, and some very unique holes. Great conditions.
First time at El Campeon
Was excited to finally have the chance to play at Mission Inn El Campeon as a lot of my buddies have played it and it ranks really higher on Golf Advisor. I’ve been out there a couple times for meetings but never stayed to play. My home course and my buddy’s were both holding tournaments on Saturday, so this was the perfect time to give it a go.
El Campeon is a very good test. We played the blue (back) tees and there were a bunch of pretty long par 4s (430+). The course has seen a ton of rain in the last few months, so a host of holes were very wet and the greens were fairly slow.
I have heard that a lot of people say they either love this course or not because it’s tight and has a lot of water. While that’s true, the course is fair if you choose the right club off the tee (which is often not driver). This place doesn’t remind me of traditional Florida golf which is a plus in my book. There are a lot of elevation changes which is great and you can hit every club in your bag.
Would love to play El Campeon again in the when the rains are gone, but playing in the summer is a great value and shouldn’t be missed.
Great layout with wonderful greens . A little wet in some spots especially #1
Very difficult course from the Blue today
Course was playing long because it is so wet. Made it harder than I remembered. 2 holes are currently cart path only.
