Fun course
The course is in really good shape for this time of year. The greens would hold all approach shots but they were very slow and hard to adjust to them.
Great course
Just moved to jacksonville 6 weeks ago, booked a round at Windsor Parke on golf now. The course was in great shape, the staff were friendly, and playing partners were helpful and fun! And was very happy to be playing golf in December!
Why????
Played this course today and was very disappointed. Pace of play was terrible. Player behind a 5sum and a 3sum that had a walked.
Real courses don’t allow either!!
5 hour round
Only play here if time no problem. It will take you 5 hours because course management is horrible. Place of play is ridiculous! Starter doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Greens in rough condition
The greens appear to going through some sort of reconditioning which made them very unpredictable. No rain for days but cart path only, poor drainage.
3 hr20 min round
Fun course! Good mix of challenging holes.
The greens were a little slow and bouncy as they looked like they had been verti cut and sanded recently.
Staff is great!
Course was in terrible condition and overbooked
I was shooting out of mud in most cases. This is one of my favorite courses but it wasn’t raining and had not rained for days. For whatever reason the sprinklers kept turning on randomly, which probably caused the flooding issues. Way too many groups were booked and we had 5-6 groups on hole 18.
Goat Track
Overpriced goat track. This is the worst layout around outside of the garbage conditions. Tee boxes are like mounds, want a bad lie off the tee? Try this place. Greens are slow, poor drainage, everything about the course, especially the price screams, never come back. It really is terrible.
So slow
Played the first 7 holes in about 1 hour. Then 3+ hours to play the rest. A foursome held up play for everyone. Wish they had a ranger who had the balls to tell people to speed up or let people play through. Watch 2 twosome quit mid round in front cause it took so long. Won’t ever get play here again. And this is their slow day lol
Inconsistent Conditions for Price
This course has a lot of opportunity due to the fun layout and great location, however it tends to be over-priced compared to other local courses that are better manicured year round.. Tee boxes are not level and grass tends to stay long and is often spotty. Greens are usually a 6.5/10.
Pace of play is a problem, seems like no regulation or tee times are too close.
Practice area is decent, Putting Green, chipping area and long range. Has pin placements with greens to hit at. Sometimes require hitting off mats.
Average public golf
Some good, some bad. At first I thought the course conditions weren’t very good. But they got some better as I went. Generally speaking the tee boxes either needed to be cut or were really chewed up. Especially on the par 3. A lot of the tees on par 3 were more sand than grass. The fairways were in good shape. The greens were not great. Several of them had bare spots that were sanded and in general they were really slow. I’m big on greens being in good shape and these needed rolling badly to smooth them out I thought. Rough isn’t too thick. The layout is really fun. A lot of water in play. Several dog legs. Long and short holes and the course is fun to play. It wasn’t very busy so the pace of play is good. I played here last year on my way through town and thought the overall condition was better last year than this year. Mainly Bc the greens weren’t as good. This course could be a gem with just a little more TLC. Cut the tee boxes. Move them around so they aren’t in chewed up areas. Smooth the greens out. Just a little work like that and it would be a pearl. Clubhouse is really nice. Paid $40 on a Saturday which isn’t bad. I’d play here again. But I’d like to see the greens roll better and be in better shape.
Greens starting to recover
Greens were punched and sanded a few weeks ago. Finally recovering. Still slightly bumpy. Should be in decent shape in another week. Fairways and tee boxes in good shape. Played it for $18 on a GolfNow hot buy. Can’t beat that!
Windsor Parke
Its a good layout, but needs better maintenance. Always rough around the edges, greens go from perfect and superfast to sandy and unplayable at different times.
Biggest problem is they dont really monitor whose teeing off when, or what the tee time is, so unless you book a 4-some dont book here, my tee times got screwed up or just skipped 3 straight times.
Greens
Greens are terrible. Literally unputtable, course overall is in poor shape. Weeds everywhere, crab grass, rotten bridges. Wouldn’t suggest anybody play here unless it’s for free
Rather play elsewhere for more money
First off, the starter and clubhouse staff were extremely rude and arrogant about the quality of their course. The course was very recently punched with more sand than grass on all greens and the one bunker I hit out of was like hitting off concrete. If they think charging $50 a round for a subpar course is acceptable, they are joking themselves. But then again the joke was on me, because I was already committed to playing there. Course was worth MAYBE $25 today. I’d much rather play at St. John’s for $60 and it be a course four times the quality as this place. Overall layout of the course was slightly above average. 0% me and my foursome will be returning there ever again. Will be going to Brentwood before coming back here
