Pleasant day of golf for a visiting couple. Excellent staff and very good layout.
Wife and I are down here to work as Volunteers for the Players Tournament. 2nd time we played here and enjoyed it. Challenge enough for us and the staff was great. Be here next year for sure.
Nice course
Course was a bit crowded but was a Friday afternoon. Course was in nice shape, well maintained, staff was friendly, certainly worth the money and will play there again.
Must play!
Course and greens are in great shape. The wind made it a challenge each day, as we played a few times this week. Definitely a go to when we visit from out of town. Inside and outside Staff and Bev cart service were excellent. We can’t wait to play again.
Good test
Always enjoy playing Windsor. Greens rolled true and fairways in good shape. Tee boxes on many holes could use some work as some are uneven and need some grass. Layout is a good test for anyone to play and watch those front hole locations as it can make it more difficult.
Overall the course was fine. The tee boxes fairways and greens were good. The grass around the greens and slightly off the fairways is sparse. Chipping is difficult due to lack of grass. The layout is nice. They also have a nice practice range.
Poor management
Don’t come here unlessI you want to play a round of golf waiting on groups of “men members” that will not keep up with group in front of them and absolutely will not let you play through, I mean,, just flat refused. So if you like waiting and waiting on every shot, this is the place for you. And don’t expect any help from management. They have no interest in making golf a decent experience.
Fun Time
You need to know the course to get the best result. lots of water out of view.
Windsor P
This course is a challenging layout for the average player, but with perfect weather, and mostly good course conditions, the day was quite enjoyable.
With one exception: pace of play was extremely slow. Possibly over booked. Course ranger did little to expedite matters, but possibly wasn't much he could do with that many players on the course. Will think twice before booking Fridays again. Staff said its always a busy day.
Great Place To Play
It has been a year since we played here and found the course in very good shape. Needs new sand here and there and some of the greens were not perfect plus the wooden bridges and some trackage were a bit iffy, but overall the course plays very, very well. Excellent staff and cart girl came at the right intervals. A good day at golf!
Slow Play
A bachelor party in front of us a few holes created a horrible slow play day. Wish the ranger had told us this prior to reaching hole 13 and telling us they were trying to move them along. The pro shop guy didn’t seem to care after I went in to comment about it as well. Too bad.
Always a challenge
Played with my usual group. For a Friday morning round it wasn’t crowded. Played 18 in just over 4 hours. Course is in great shape.traps could use more attention and need sand added. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Greens in Best Shape Ever
I have been playing WP for many years. Although he greens weren't as fast as they will be they were lush and consistent. The best shape I have probably ever seen them in. The pace of play was great. We only hade to wait on the group in front of us 2 or 3 times. A 4 hour round.
poor service
Made a reservation and showed up 50 minutes early, the parking lot was full but they had an overflow lot. We dropped our bags and parked our car, when we got back to the bag drop we were told that there were no carts available, we told them we would be at the driving range. No offer to take our bags there. We went to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls. Carried our bags back and still no carts. We were assured there would be some momentarily.
After an hour and a half of "no carts" people were backing up at the bag drop and no communication from the staff and asked for the manager on site. He happened to come Into the pro shop while I was asking for a refund. When I explained the issue to him he had a blank star and blamed a group that was on the course and that was holding up all the carts. Mind you, the same person scurried from the pro shop to the cart shed that was in clear view of the back up at the bag drop. He also returned to the club house a different way to avoid the crowd.
The manager should be trained in customer service as well as the cart boys. To blame a group of golfers and not take action to get them off the course or inform the patrons of the issue when they take your payment is awful. They are responsible for the golfers on the course, and by the way, the cart boys were making comments about the group on the course that was giving the players a mulligan for every beer they drank. If an employee of the golf course knew about this issue it should have been stopped before it became a problem.
Very very disappointed!
Great playing conditions
This course is set up for the "target" golfer. Keep your shots in play... You should score well. Play one extra club on some holes for carrying distance. Greens are in pure conditions . Enjoy the day.
Windsor is always a challenge
I've played this course many times over the past 20 years but this was the first time in about 3 years. The course condition was good for mid-winter. Greens were over-seeded and in good condition, moderately fast. There are several very challenging holes (at least for me), especially when the breeze is blowing like it was this day. Overall, Windsor is a very good value.
Slow Saturday
Pace of play was rather slow. Greens were in pretty good condition but fairways were thin and patchy. It was my first time at the course. Okay give it another try.
Nice course
This is a nice course with a good layout. Friendly staff. Good deal for the money.
