Great course
Course is in great condition...is challenging...and water hazards can eat up errant shots.
Wish someone from Golf Now would have told us that the greens had been punched recently, would have found another course.
Value
Other than a few beaten up tee boxes the place was in great shape. Everyone was very friendly.
Course layout
Love the layout especially the last 5 holes! Greens were a little bumpy today but acceptable.
Enjoyable place to play
Course continues to be a good test. It is well run and kept in good shape. Greens were aerated a few weeks ago and need more time before they are in excellent condition. Fairways are good and tee boxes are getting better. Value for the money is good and the staff is friendly. The starter was very attentive today and kept us up to speed on th pace of play. Front nine took a while but the back got faster as some groups in front of us left. I always enjoy this course and so glad they keep it in good shape. I will be back soon.
Day 11 of aerification
I enjoy playing this course as it challenges me to play smart. Fairways are not as wide as other courses but fair. As the greens have been aerated 11 days ago (according to the starter” they were a bit bumpy but still playable. The practice green isn’t representative of the greens on the course. The chipping and driving areas are very good. It also has a nice clubhouse. The starter, the employees at the desk, was very friendly as were the cart girl and cart guys. It makes a difference. I’ll be back soon.
Good Value
We passed the course many and the wife and I decided to give it a try. The staff was VERY friendly and welcoming. The course is a little rough around the edges but the value is still very good.
COurse layout
One of my fave courses in the area mainly because of the layout of the last 5holes. Greens were bumpy but just aerified which is understandable but with reasonable roll still.
About what I expected.
Stopped in Jacksonville on my way home from the Keys and was itching to play some golf. Picked this course because it was closest to the shopping area my wife wanted to go to. Paid about $40 for a Saturday afternoon round. Course was about what I expected it to be for that price near a larger city. The course was not it bad shape. But not pristine. About what you’d expect for a 40 buck public course. Fairways, rough, tees were all mowed. Fairways in pretty good shape. And most tee boxes too. Except the par 3s. They were chewed up so. Greens were smooth and firm. But a little slow in my opinion. I had trouble getting anything to stop on them. But then couldn’t get the ball to the hole on my putts. Layout is fairly interesting. A lot of doglegs. Some short holes. A couple of longer ones. Most par 3s were short to medium irons from the white tees. 1 short par 5. The others were average distance. A lot of water. Most of it on the side. But 4-5 forced carries at some point. Saw the cart girl 2 times. $3 for a Pepsi. $4 for a draft beer in the clubhouse. Overall not bad and would play again. Good choice in the area when you want to play a round without the agony or expense of Sawgrass or the World Golf Village.
Not Enough Carts
Had to wait on Golf Carts along side 8 other Golfers so make sure they had enough Carts before you Head out
Great course lay out but pace of play is an issue.
I have played the course for 18 years and love it. Not happy with pace of play and I understand over booking the course. Would be nice to have a Marshall on each side to keep things moving.
Great Layout and conditions
Course was in great shape, greens were about a week from being perfect after aeration. Very playable layout. Would definitely play again
Mundane
Fairways are in good condition. Greens are slow and pitted. Staff at reception and departure are great! Cart girl talks way too much about herself and if you let her talk she will hold you up for a
While.
Not very challenging but good for a day out of the office and great location.
Conditions need improvement
I love the layout of this course. But the bunkers were not raked and haven’t been trimmed in a long time. The greens are aerated and are in horrible condition for the value. And the fairways are were damp and in some areas puddles. The pace was slow. This course was once a gem. However, lately they have not kept the greens in good condition. They also don’t mention that the greens have been aerated.
Challenging course
It is challenging course since there are a lot of waters and the fairways are nallow, I put many balls into the water. My score was very bad and worst. But, the course is well maintained on both fairways and greens.
Staff
Course was ok, greens rough after aerification. Staff in shop are always unfriendly
Amazing experience!
We had an excellent experience! The course was challenging but had many par opportunities. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly from the pro shop to the starter to the cart service. The course plays at 4:10 but they told us it was crowded due to the Players Championship going on and was playing at about 4:30. Having the heads up was great and it didn’t mar our experience in the least bit. We will definitely play this course again the next time we are in the area!
