18th Green at Queen's Harbour Photo submitted by mcstanley78 on 08/09/2013
Difficult course on a hot day
First off the staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. The cart girl came by ever 3 holes and Shane got us off to a good start with his explanations of course layout. There is water on just about every hole. Not exactly the type of course that favors a long ball hitter from the tee. Hazards and water, and dog legs to take into consideration if you plan to hit a 300 yard tee shot. I enjoyed the round of golf even though the day was high humidity and 90-95 degrees. Greens were in very good shape for a course that had been aerated early in the month. This was my first visit to the course and I usually will follow my Golf logix app while playing to understand each hole layout but this day my battery was just about dead by the 4th hole so it would have been nice to have some other form of course layout to assist with managing the shots on par 4 & 5 holes
Joke
Place is a joke. Mowers all over the place while we’re trying to hit. No reduced rate for poor conditions
Early clubhouse/restroom closure
Completed play 6:45pm and clubhouse was already closed with no access to restrooms. Would have liked to have the option prior to leaving. Otherwise everything else was a great experience.
Great Conditions
The course was in really good shape overall. It’s always a challenging course for me because you have to really play your irons well or at least for me. The staff is also very friendly!
Beautiful water course!
Very friendly staff starting from the starter to the cart girls. They really made the trip enjoyable. The course was beautiful and very challenging. I would say whoever chose the pin placement on Friday must be a sadist because it was crazy hard with those fast greens. I’m looking forward to my next trip.
Fast pace round
Quick round as weather was threatening. Lightning just before our tee time. Course is challenging design. Fairways pretty good . Overall improved this year.
Several bare areas off the fairways. Often hitting off dirt. My son in law needed Club rental . It was $80 for Callaway Maverick Irons and Epic driver. I bought Mavericks myself 3 seasons ago. Definitely not new clubs. 6 iron was missing. But all in all round was enjoyable.
Rained out
We didn't get to finish our round do to Lightning but were given rain checks. The course was in good condition and we were on pace for a sub 4 hour round before the weather got us. Will be back.
3+ hours for 9 holes. No help from the player assistants. We quit after 9
No consideration from staff to compensate for the fact we were only able to play 9
DONT PLAY HERE
Round took 5 hours never saw a ranger that’s all you need to know
