Heritage Harbor
About
The Heritage Harbor Golf Club measures nearly 7,000 yards from the back tees and is one of the more challenging public course layouts in the Tampa Bay area. Four sets of tees have been incorporated into the design, making the course fun for golfers of all skill levels. The swirling winds and strategically located bunkers will play havoc with the players of these finely manicured links. However, the large greens may provide some relief. The premium on the championship course has been placed mainly on the short game. Winding through natural areas and cypress heads, Heritage Harbor Golf Club offers many scenic, unobstructed views. Seven of the eighteen holes have no homesites adjacent to the fairways, offering great, uncluttered golf.

Just OK Condition
Great layout, however it needs overall attention, bunkers undefined, fairways bare in spots, lots of weeds in the greens
Understanding playing speed
I've played Heritage Harbor many times and I've come to expect that they stack tee times every 7-10 minutes so I expect to usually play behind a group or having a group playing behind me. Thats normal.
What I didn't expect when I was part of a 4-some that I played with for the first time that one of their players who was hitting balls all over the place would hit errant shots into the fairways of other players 75 yards out of bounds and not only drive the cart into the other fareway but would play that ball adding another 10 minutes to the time the players behind us would have to wait.
After the 9th hole 2 of the players went into the clubhouse while I waiting with the other one of the group at the 10th tee. after 10 minutes of waiting, the group behind us came up and we let them play though. Another 5 minutes past and another 3-some came up.
At this point I had had enough of waiting. I split off asked the 2-some who were not on the green yet on the 10th hole if I could jump to the 11th hole as there was no one on it.
After that I played fast golf from 11-18th hold in less than an hour.
It was great after taking 2 hours to play front 9 and then sitting at clubhouse for 20 minutes waiting for those 2 guys to come back.
Tee boxes and fairways needed some help...water would help them alot...greens were mostly good some weed controll would help...Worked on golf courses for 26 years ..a little tlc would bring this course up a notch...Enjoyed playing here and will come back again....
Good for a quick round
A good round but weather caused us to stop after 8. Asked for and received a rain check for second nine. A starter Wud keep twosomes from jumping in.
Greens need some work
Played this course on the 7th of November. had previously played this course the third week in October. The course was in very good shape in October. It was in fair shape on the 7th. The biggest change was in the greens
They seem to be infested with weeds. They were cut short, but the weeks seem to be invading the greens.
Don't know if they were treating them or not. You had to adjust your position on the greens in order to avoid having to putt over them. To me, the most important part of a courses conditioning are the greens. After that the fairways and bunkers. Tee ground is the least important.
Pace of play was reasonable, once we got around a slow moving twosome.
Pace and conditions
Not sure why there isn’t a ranger moving people along especially this time of year. It appears the crab grass on the greens is getting out of control. Too bad greens were best in the area
Nice interesting course for the price.
Really enjoyed the course. Greens and fairways were in decent shape considering that Fla has not had much rain. They had a nice practice facility. Overall we felt like the course was well worth the money. Great staff.
Beautiful day
worried we were starting too late to even finish 9, but pace of play was good and we had no issues getting in. Course was in fair to good shape for fall. We really enjoyed our time on the course
Good course for the money
I wanted to play TPC Tampa but they wanted $175 which wasn’t in the cards. Tee boxes were in rough shape but, overall, the course was in good shape. A couple of holes were wonky especially 15 which is insane. Add in a windy day and it’s impossible.
Nice course
Good shape. A little dry due to the drought we’re having
Nice course and practice facility for the bunny
The conditions were okay the greens were okay but not the best I've ever played on. They needed to be cleared with a gas blower. The fairways were very weedy but playable. I enjoyed the layout and the pace of play. It was worth the money
