Baytree is back!
Enjoyed the course. Heard from others that investment has been made. Tee boxes a little chewed up. Greens in good shape. Fairways were in good shape. Some attention needed around the landscaping off the course. Beverage cart service was good; cart broke down and we helped jump start to get her back to the clubhouse. Pro shop looked decent; didn't use any other facilities. Would definitely go back again.
Another nice golf round
Greens were super fast and firm like I like...course was packed and still finished in under 4 hours very happy about that...the only hangup was the homeowners took over the bathroom on 7 after some yard work they decided that was the bathroom of choice and me and my wife had to hold on til the turn...there is no way homeowners with bathrooms in there home should hold up golfers needing to use the can.....
What’s Happened to this Course?
I’ve played here many times since this course first opened many years ago. It was originally one of the best courses In the area. I can now say it is I. The worst condition I’ve ever seen it and possibly the worst condition for the nearest 50 miles. Besides the fact they just sanded the course and the entire front 9 had not been watered-in, sand dominated the tees and greens for the first 9 holes. What really impressed me was the poor condition of the overall turn, weeds everywhere and they obviously have a pest control problem as rodents, hogs, birds and other wildlife have been digging holes I’ll over the course. Fairways were also in horrible condition. Bare spots and hard pan everywhere. I’ve seen this twice before when the Savanahs and the Hanitat courses first opened. Great courses until the GM ran each of them into the ground ( Same pro ruined both courses). Someone has let this course go to pot, what a shame. I won’t been returning here anytime soon for any price until they get this mess cleaned up.
Course needs some love
This course is beat up and needs some attention. Feels like a course where the home owners aren't putting the money into the association to keep the course in good shape. Played like a beat up municipal course where there's lots of divots that haven't healed and sod that isn't established or maybe just not laid in correctly. I enjoyed the round and property has huge potential but the course just wasn't in very nice shape.
We golf at Bayatree a few times each winter.. the course conditions have improved each year.. signs of improvement are.. fairway and green turf is more lush.. there are a number of areas that are under repair.. ball washers are in good working condition and full.. hydration water for player on the course is fresh and ice cold.. the greens are fast, true, and weed free
Back in the mid to late 90's I played here 3 times a week. The course was flawless except for an occasional Mole Cricket problem which maybe still persists. Today, the greens, tees, and fairways are good, not great, but the areas in front and all around the greens and green side bunkers are unplayable. I just used a putter rather than risk a chili-dip off rather bare ground or relief drop from newly sodded areas. Respectfully, to staff and course maintenance, I would recommend closing the course from 1 May to 1 0ctober to restore , treat, sprig and bring Baytree back to those days of yesteryear.
nice golfing here
Buddy from out of town played on Wednesday and had no problem getting out as it was about 55 degrees when we played. Course good but we had lots of clothes on. Enjoyable anyway.
It took an unusually long time to play. We had to wait on every hole and by the time we finished our round the club house was completely locked up. We couldn’t get a drink, snack or use the clubhouse facilities. There are no restrooms on the course. However, the course and scenery make it I course I’d love to play again. It’s simply spectacular but play in the morning!
Good Value, but slow today. 2::22 start finished at 6:40.
Out of control range and 5 hours
Course was in good shape...but if you're injured like I am and need a good warm up before playing it might not happen...This is the third time i have visited and there was no room on the range or chipping green and 90 percent of the people there wasn't even golfing that day...I think a course should be paying player friendly also and monthly driving range members should have a area for themselves also...I got into it with a guy over a spot that wasn't occupied until I put my stuff there which kinda ruined my golf day before it started and then on top of that it took over 5 hours to play...
Played early enough to move right along. Was impressed on how the course had drained after the deluge the day before. Always enjoy playing this course.
