Palmetto Golf Course
About
Palmetto Golf Course gets its name from the beautiful palmetto trees that line the fairways and meandering waterways. Although they add to the scenery, the trees double as a challenging element of the course since they can also affect shots. The golf course was designed by Dick Wilson, who has designed many other courses in the area. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes of the course, including the notable signature hole, which a 435-yard par-4. There are also sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. The Palmetto Golf Course facility boasts lighted practice facilities, including a practice putting green and driving range.

Only course available in area that a retired person can afford
OK as a course needs a lot of work but county wont spend the money.
Much better now
The condition of the course overall have improved a lot since last time a played here, about 6 months ago. I really enjoyed the round.
They did a great job redoing this course.
Recently they remodeled this course by removing some bunkers and changing some tee boxes; mostly the woman's. By doing this they made the course play move much quicker. The course looks in good shape on the day that I played from tee to green. The ball didn’t run smoothly on some greens but it wasn’t horrible. Sometimes there is not a starter to help it go smoothly. For a public course I feel that this one is in good shape and provides a good challenge for most golfers.
For a public course this course is in good shape
Staff is always friendly. They recently redid this course to help it play quicker by removing some bunkers and moving a lot of the women’s tees forward and the course the day that I played was in good shape from tee to green. On some of the greens the ball did not run as smooth but overall for a public course I wasn’t disappointed. Pace of play was good and people were polite enough to allow you to play forward.
Great course layout
They just finished redoing this course and this is the first time I had played it after they opened all 18holes. They made the play easier by taking away some bonkers and moving the women’s tees up, By doing this they made the play move quicker. The tee box, fairways and greens are in much better shape than before and the greens run true. I enjoyed playing this course and the speed of play was so much better with the new layout and I am able to score better than before. There are not many courses in Dade County and I am very happy with what they did with this course.
Good course, but not great!
Although the back 9 was just opened up from having it redone, I still feel like the fairways are a bit patchy and some mucky. Greens are in great conditions along with the fringes, tee boxes were also in great condition
Rain, Rain, Go Away
We have attempted to play this course 2 times within the last year. The clubhouse staff was very nice. The check-in process and clubhouse are clean and have a nice setup.
Both times we have played the course it has rained flooding the course. This is a Municipal Course so conditions of fairways, rough, traps, etc are in much need of improvement. The back 9 is still under construction until August 23 (we were told).
There is a nice driving range, go-carts, and mini putt course there also. We did not use any of these amenities.
Will chose to play other courses in the area.
Palmetto Golf
Excellent attention and friendliness from course staff. Very fun course! Lots of people having fun golfing. Course is nice, some water hazards to keep things interesting. Greens were in good condition. Third time playing here. Very nice experience!!
Bad information
I was never told the back one was closed, the Ranger was practicing golf instead of looking at people that don’t know how to play nor les better player go. Horrible
