Your approach to the 8th at Grand Cypress New needs to cross a burn, and you'll drive your cart over a stone bridge toward the green. Kitschy? Sure, but chalk it up to commitment to a certain aesthetic. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/31/2018

Bad Timing and poor service
The course and facilities are beautiful. We played the “New Course”, but were put out with a shotgun tournament. We did fine, however the pace of play was very slow as the tournament participants were drinking excessively. To top if off, the two gentlemen we were playing with cart died on the 15th hole. We called three times, spoke to a live person who said they would send help, but never did send anyone out to help. We were able to tow them in, slowing us down even more.
Classic Links Course
Very difficult the 1st time through. Have no idea where you are going. The condition of the course is exquisite but the pot bunkers off every tee are difficult without some type of map. I am 8 handicap and struggled with the layout. At least a picture of the holes on the card would help. Pace of play is slow as NOBODY knows where they're going!!! !
Love This Wide Open Course
The New Course has become a first play when we visit Orlando having not played during the winter. Very generous fairways and large greens. Lots of room for error on a beautiful course. Plenty of pot bunkers to catch even good drives and canals to swallow errant approach shots. Requires good course management. Beautiful scenic views. My only complaint at this course is they have run out of carts every time I play and the frantic pace in the cart turnaround area wondering if you'll get a cart before your round starts is unsettling and not reflective of the quality of the rest of the operation. Waited on Foursome in front of us every hole until we skipped in front of them then wide open from there.
Busy course and well organized
The course is in great condition, having dual greens is quite confusing and at times people hitting to the green while are putting, it was also hard to figure out the hole location as there are go GPS guidance on the carts, that should be standard at this price point.
Marketing worked but course didn’t
The whole “1 and 18 are replicas of St. Andrews” is marketing at its finest. If you can’t hit a fairway here you need to find another sport. The entire course is a fairway. The links style setup seems out of place. I would liked to have seen the other courses here. I would recommend those over the New Course. Bunkers here are mean serious business. Not worth $120
Royal & Ancient
Never played the course in Scotland so can’t compare. Some great features in particular the holes that have the water features in front of the greens. Thought the greens were slow today, perhaps due to the heavy downpour yesterday. Staff were super, very helpful and friendly.
We will return to try and better our score today
Interesting......
Haven’t played a course like this before. I believe it is somewhat a replica of St. Andrews at times. Enormous fairways that at times leave little idea where you might be best to aim for. Most greeens are double greens, white and yellow flags denoting front and back nine. There is not any help on scorecard or on tee boxes as to where to aim for, how far out the multiple pot bunkers lay etc. Having said the aforementioned, I did enjoy the experience as it was completely different than any course I have played. Many of the greens are very interesting with little margin for error. Course conditions were fantastic, greens in particular quick. There are countless, punishing bunkers that you must avoid to score. Also be aware of a wandering water hazard on theee or four holes in front of greens. Staff was top notch along with practice facility. Worth playing once.
Played the links, had a great time. Much different from the courses I’m used to.
Great course, wish they had hole layout on scorecard!
This is a very good golf course, and was in excellent condition. There were a few holes we had trouble determining where to hit our tee shots. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I’d give this experience five stars!
Good Course
This is a very good golf course. Great conditions. Pretty wide open but lots of traps and some holes have great character. Highly recommend.
Good First Round Course
Good course for your first round. Lots of room for driving.Course conditions were excellent but pace of play was slow. 4 hours & 45 mins on a Sunday afternoon with a 2:00 pm tee time -maybe that's normal???
Problems with tee off times
On a Friday 1 of February
We arrived at the first tee at 7 minutes prior to my scheduled in but staff starter forced us joining with
2 some they’re already playing on the course.
I believe he’s been confused someone did not show up at their scheduled tee time so we were joined with them on 3rd. Hole.

Fun Track. Great alternative too other disney resort courses!
Course was a fun layout especially being first round off the plane. Limited water and wide open but lots of hidden bunkers. Download the app as it has good flyover of holes so you can see where to hit it if it's your first trip around!
very beautiful golf course
parcours très large
attention aux drapeaux double green très souvent
et green très rapides avce beaucoup de pente
très agréable
attention beaucoup de monde
The new course
Was a great layout. Beware the pot bunkers. They can eat you alive. One of the best golfing days we ever had.
Nicklaus’ homage to The Old Course
Grand Cypress New is a must if you’re in the Orlando area. This homage to The Old Course winds through the property with plenty to remind you of Scotland. From the replica of the Seilcan bridge to the burn running across #1, 8, and 10, to bunker and the Principals Nose, you’ll harken back to the most revered golf in the world. Course amenities are top notch with a pleasant, attentive staff. Pay the price. You won’t be disappointed
Not quite a Scottish links
The New Course attempts to duplicate a Scottish links, but doesn't really pull it off. The fairways are wide open with little or no penalty for missing the fairway. The greens are nice, but the soft, green overseeded doesn't match the firm, brown, dormant putting surface of a Scottish layout. Don't expect to see mammoth pot hole bunkers on the New Course either.
Great Day at Grand Cypress (New)
I usually golf twice a week and strive to play different courses when possible, so it was time to give Grand Cypress a try. Reviews for the New course were very good so I came in with high hopes and we were not disappointed. The course was in excellent condition from tee to green, and pace of play happened to be very good, even with a crowded course. Fun layout with several semi-blind shots. We look forward to playing the other course that they offer the next time we head out.
