Good layout
Course was in pretty good shape. Greens were avg speed. Played it on a busy Sat. afternoon so play was slower than I like, but I like playing quickly.
Sure can't complain for a good Golfnow price. I'll probably play there again.
good experience
My wife and I played at 1:00 on a Saturday and we never saw anyone in front or behind us till the 16th hole. We played in 3 1/2 hours. The course has a lot of hidden hazards of the tee and after playing the course just once you could figure out where to hit your drives. The greens were in good shape and were challenging. We really enjoyed our round and look forward to playing Grand Haven again.
Great course conditions but terrible customer service!
Course was in great condition; however customer service was terrible. We got through 7 holes and had a rain storm move through so decided to wait. We were 29 minutes ahead of schedule at the time. We decided to finish the nine as lighting went away. As we began 10th hole, we had a cart guy show us the radar and said we can do what we want. I asked if we could get a rain check, but he said he didn't have the authority. So we played on. On the 10th fairway, he chased us down and I quote said "Guys this is ridiculous, I don't want to wait another two hours and my wife wants to cook me dinner. This was at 5:35pm. He said he would vouch for us to play nine after 3. So he handed me a handwritten letter for 2 to play 9 after 3pm. He even misspelled my name after he asked me to spell it. I would expect. This course director to give me a call and say he is sorry. I live out of town. The rain check would have been fine without the explanation of the cart guy needing to get home because his wife wanted to cook him dinner. This coming from some one who was a cart guy for 5 years in Amelia Island, Florida.
Very good value. Vertical cut on front 9 but putts ran true. Excellent course, great layout.
Great afternoon. Great friendly staff, course in very good shape. Front 9 greens were just cut vertically but little effect.
Challenging course but great layout.
This is one great course!
I believe that this is one of the greatest courses in our area. The fairway are alway great and the rough is alway fair. If I had the money to be a member, this would be the one that I would join. This one is a MUST to play!
Wow, best course in the area!
Too bad Grand Haven is private. Fantastic course! Pristine, great track, & playing for $22 a person was the biggest steal ever! Played it before it went private, & realized how much I missed it!
Played well following foursome in under 4 hours, great greens
One of top courses in Daytona/Palm Coast region, it is in great shape, the staff is super friendly and the play moves smoothly.
Great shape
The course was in fabulous condition. Absolute steal of a deal on what i paid thanks to golfnow.
Love this course
Love playing this course. Was in really good shape. Greens were good, a few spots a tad rough but overall good.
For the money paid thought it was well worth it. Play seemed a little slow, a couple of foursomes in front of us but seemed to be keeping up and we did finish round in 4 hours.
Nicklaus signature course with deep bunkers and plenty of sand.
Bag Drop personnel meet your car and unloads your bags. Carts a super clean with tees and towels. GPS in carts. Proshop staff and Head Pro were just great! Driving range fully stocked with range balls and stations. Fairways green, the greens are well bunkered and shots must be flown onto most of them, no chance to run the ball up onto them. I can recommend this course.
Good course
The best part of the course were the greens were very nice. Not slow, not real fast but a nice pace. The fairways need some care. Some tees need work. No cart person, nobody around when we finished our round at 5:00. So they close early. But you should play this course.
Yes I will go back and play again.
Worth the drive!
I saw this course on golfnow.com and it looked interesting, especially from the reviews. My friend Jeff and I played Sunday and got paired with Mike, the Fire Chief of Palm Coast. A terrific course that was in very good condition with great company means a wonderful time. The special price we paid made it even better. Plenty of space driving. The real test is on the greens. They rolled great, had good speed, and the subtle breaks made them very challenging. We hope to return soon.
Nice one to catch after the locals have lunch
On Friday this place cleared out after the locals finished their morning play and had lunch. Caught it after 2pm and was all alone . Really nice track. Will play again when in the area.
Love the course setting and golf challenge
Thanks to GolfNow for opportunity to play this prestine golf course. Hope you continued to offer opportunities at couses of this level. (Ocean Hammock, Conservatory).
Thanks
Very fun course
Second time playing this course. Great layout with some really fun holes. Greens were in great shape, tee boxes were a bit beaten up, but the fairways, aprons and bunkers were all top notch. Staff was almost non-existent and pace of play was awesome. The key was the value, for this price there is nothing in the county that beats it. Had a great time.
great course
The course itself, practive range, and facilities were great.
Staff was great two.
Only bad thing was about rental clubs.
They've charge me 55$ for inadequate equipement.
No fairway woods, only hydrid 3, no 3 iron, no 9 iron.
No choice on the driver's angle, only 10,5 availible.
All the shafts were regular and graphite.
Really not adequate for average - good golfer like me.
The value for this equipement should have been more like 20$, not 55$.
Great time for the Money!
Jack Nicholas knows how to design a golf course for the average golfer. We had a fantastic time and it was so much fun playing with the afternoon wind. Open venue with no significant rough. Some bald spots, however, nothing alarming. The greens are tough to read as you would suspect from a JN course. Will play this course again in a heartbeat. For some reason I played better than my average round and the course has length.
Needs TLC !!!!
Played this course many times in the past in good and bad conditions. Typical Jack design with a good layout.
Range and practice area is good but pretty beat up.
After checking in we headed for the range and the starter, funny thing the range was there but no course employees for assistance.
GPS working, to find your way.
Now the important part the course, good design with yds of up to 6900. The conditions are the problems, some tees are closed in areas due to no grass, fairways are sparse and hard. Traps maintained nicely. The greens are in need of attention sparse in spots, many ballmarks, and very hard and bumpy.
If you go, do NOT pay the rack rate, look for a deal. The deals are all late in the day for non members, so be prepared to finish your round after 6om.
Great Layout, but needs attention.
The course is what you would expect from a Jack Nicklaus course. Great design, however, it needs some care. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were below the standard. Some of the tee boxes were aweful. The front 9 greens were really rough because of the recent aerification. The GPS was also not working, which we didnt know until we got to hole 1. This made the course difficult becuse it had no pictures of any of the holes and finding the distance markers was very difficult. On a positive note, the island par 3 was one of the nicest I have ever played. This is a driver friendly course, which I love. I also had one of my best round,s so I would love to come back when the course is in better shape and the GPS is working. This course has the potential to be a 5 star course.
Very nice layout
Greens recently dressed fairway in poor condition, lots of dry spots (burnt out) pace of play ok,they shut down GPS system on carts.
