19 & 1 at University Park Country Club

Great golf course in great condition. Unfortunately price went up 50% from last year.

The course was in great shape, the fairways were nice and the greens rolled true. I loved the layout, however it was lucky I played with a couple of members. There were a few holes where you need to hit you tee shot in a certain area to have a good look at the green.

The pace of play was pretty slow, we were waiting on every hole. There was a Par 3 where there were 3 groups on the hole. They have 8-minute tee times so a 4 1/2 - 5 hour round is inevitable.

I only have one "complaint". I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get a round in while I was in Sarasota so I didn't bring my clubs and had to rent a set. I went to the bag drop and asked for a rental and the guys just grabbed a set of clubs and put them on a cart, he didn't ask anything about my game. The set I got was a nice set of Cobra's however, the set was fitted for a 24+ handicap (I'm an 8). The highest iron was a 7-iron and it had a 5 and 6-hybrid, clubs I don't own and have never hit. It took me most of the front 9 to figure out how to hit the clubs (even after a bucket on the range). I never got used to the high bounce SW.

Maybe they could have more options for rental clubs.

Unlucky with the course receiving two inches of rain the day before we played. It was cart path only that helped make this 4.5 to 5 hour round. It was extremely annoying we had to continue changing GPS screens that kept informing us we were 10 minutes behind because of cart path only. Beverage cart was available on hole 3 only. Its one of the best courses in this area and for $175 its expected. The traffic in this area is having me rethink playing in this area and with the amount of new construction this is not going to get better.

$175 is a stretch but we lucked out with Golfnow for half that. Could not justify full rack rate even in this inflated high season market. Outdoor bar post round was a bonus!

Course is in very good condition and the greens are superb right now. One of my favorite pay-and-play courses in the area. Nice outdoor bar at the clubhouse, and the food is good. Let down only by the fact that on this occasion I paid full price but could only play 12 holes due to slow play and fading evening light.

Played many courses during our 6 week stay in Florida. I went back to play it again because I enjoyed it so much. Great experience all around!

This is an excellent course to play. Well worth the money!

Its a beautiful course with enough variety to make it interesting. The greens are in good shape and are not excessively difficult. It took almost 4 1/2 hours to play 18 holes. There is no additional charge for use of the driving range. Practice facilities are excellent.

A lovely 27 hole course with interesting holes. Course is in very good condition.

What a wonderful course(s) to play as part of our first visit to Florida, it is understandable why people are rating this so highly. Fairways, greens & bunkers were all immaculately presented & the facilities around the course were impressive. We played over holes 10 - 27 & disappointed we didn't get chance to come back for holes 1-9.
We played off the white/platinum tees as this was a similar distance to our courses back home at 6223 yds and it made for a very enjoyable & challenging enough round, I would imagine it being a bit of a brute off the back tees.
The staff were so friendly, you felt really welcomed into the Country Club & I would love to play it again!
