Sly Fox Golf Club

This was the most frustrating round of golf in a long time due to the pace of play. Typically, when I tee off prior to 7:45, the groups are average to good golfers and the pace is great. The first 4 groups at Jackson Chase were between the ages of 50-75 and would not allow groups to pass. On most holes, there was a backup of at least 2 groups because of the pace of play. We finally skipped 3 holes to enable us to play at a decent pace. Staff was not willing to help. I'll never play here again.

And the course itself isn't in the greatest shape. Tee boxes need help.

never played a course where the greens were this inconsistent. Shaggy, pockmarked, and 5-6 craters on the 11th green...I know it's early in the season but these were pretty terrible. Stopped for lunch, looked at the menu, ordered the chicken salad to be told the only thing they had were hot dogs.

I'm not sure what the qualifications are for a fairway or green but the standards here are exceptionally low. The fairways have no drainage to them what so ever. Muddy irons on every fairway swing. That along with greens that looked as though they had been covered with tree moss where there happened to be grass made for a terrible waste of money. I enjoy the overall layout of the course but it is not maintained well at all. There are much better courses in the area for the money.

Varied layout with a blend of easier and more difficult holes that include some blind shots, some sloping fairways, some Par 4 tee shots where driver may not be the best club, and a variety of flat, uphill, downhill, and side hill lies. Fun to play and in surprisingly good shape except for some greens that have areas of fungus causing bumpy rolls if you must putt across them. An interesting and enjoyable layout with a friendly staff and a modest bar for beverages or food. Few homes along the course but they don't detract from the experience. Also, some forced carries and a few teeing areas are a bit close to the previous greens. Overall, definitely worth it.

This course has potential but needs some love. There is a nice variety of holes however conditions were fair at best. To be fair it had rained hard the day before so it was wet everywhere. There are many blind tee shots where you are guessing where to hit it and the tee boxes on most holes were not being used so you hit off the grass to the side. The bunkers were in need of sand and the greens were slow. Pro shop employee was not friendly and it was like we were bothering him when we checked in. This course is also in a residential area with the first nine holes running along the houses.Hot deal price was $10 so it was as cheap as a bucket of balls at the range and the course was almost empty. Better choices right now in the area.

Jackson's Chase is an exciting course to play, you never know what you're going to get from hole to hole the first time you play and that wild geography will keep you wanting a rematch. This course was definitely a bit over my head as a beginner but I can say that I learned a lot and at the price you pay I'm not looking at it other than a great time. Now, what sticks with me most about this course are primarily two things: the hills and massive obstacles. Frequently when you get to the tee box instead of knowing right where to go you'll often find yourself saying "Well I'm not sure if I should send the ball over the left or right side of that next hill, the hole has to be over there somewhere." And this isn't a bad thing because you do know the general layout, but without actually seeing the rest of the fairway there's plenty left up to the imagination. And lastly about the obstacles, you'll probably want to bring a few extra balls when you visit because there are at least a few holes that will offer great opportunities to give a few to the course. The back 9 sticks with me on this point because I lost a couple to the pond you have to shoot over to make it onto the green on hole 11 and then when you think you're safe hole 12 has a monster valley you have to shoot over just to make it onto the fairway, but believe me you'll see stuff like that come at you at other holes too. All in all a great course, but if you're a beginner like me than don't be surprised if you're a little humbled by your score because the journey you have to go through is definitely worth it.

This is a pretty good layout,though the back 9 is far better.But,the conditions were not as good.Every tee box was bare or patchy and they seem to have given up on maintaining any sand traps.The greens were generally decent though some had actual holes other than the cup.
Overall,this could be a pretty good course with some maintenance.Since I got a very good rate on Golfnow I can't really complain though.

This course is hilly and has a few blind shots- it's best to play with someone who knows the course the first couple of times. The greens are fast and roll well. Fairways are sloped and tee shots must be placed to get good results. Most holes don't play well with a "just bomb it" strategy. The only poorer part of the course is the variety of grasses/weeds on the tee boxes- but since you're teeing up anyway, it doesn't affect play.

Nice golf course with an excellent layout. Keep it on the fairway and you will be fine.

The course has a few difficult holes for the casual golfer, yet with a few well placed shots, your round will be enjoyable. The layout is pretty open, allowing for a few errand shots to remain in play. The greens are well maintained, but with the elevation changes, if you overshot the cup, you could be facing a 30 foot return. This course is worth playing again.

My wife and friend of ours played this course for the first time the fairways are in excellent condition and the course has a mixture of wide-open fairways and narrow fairways the only thing we did not like about the course is that there were no water buckets or a single bathroom on the course other than that we loved it we will definitely be back again

Course easy to get to worth the drive for cheap golf on a course that condition has improved last several years. Mix of tight holes off tee and some with generous landing areas. Green a little bumpy but speed consistent. Greens offer reading challenges for line. Great course to work on game on a layout that offers a mix of shapes and elevations. Enjoy this and the price is right!

Bought the t-time as a single , wanted to play in the a.m. , I'm an on call medical professional . When I got there the guy looked annoyed ,acted like I was killing him to check me in.. Wanted me to play with a foursome that wasn't there yet.It was not that busy...When I explained I just wanted to play by myself in a practice round he then began to berate me for buying a t-time on line.. " I don't make any money when you do that".. I ended up playing about 12 holes and left..so annoyed.

Had a great experience here. The course was in great shape. The green were fast and true. Played on a Sunday and pace of play was great. Overall a great experience.

Course is challengen yet good for a less experienced golfer. Ruff was tough on some holes but a little forgiven on others. Overall a fun course and a fun day.

This was an interesting course to play. The day I played it was very windy. As it was early in the season I am hoping as Spring progresses the course will improve. The bunkers were barren of any sand. Looked like the bottom of a dried up pond. The fairways were well maintained. The greens were slightly brown and played very fast. Putting on a flat green it was easy to over power your putt. Putting downhill on a green and look out; very easy to roll the ball to the far fringe. The tee boxes need some attention. There were broken tees scattered everywhere. There was an abundance of cigarette butts around most tee boxes. Again, hoping wormer weather and full staffing will bring this course to its full potential. Recommend playing this course and plan to play again myself.
