Stallion Mountain Golf Club is conveniently situated just minutes from the Strip, but this Las Vegas golf course feels much further away thanks to a scenic landscape of towering, mature pines and six sparkling lakes. Over the years the course has hosted several major events including Frank Sinatra's Celebrity Classic and Las Vegas Invitational. It has a versatile layout that offers plenty of variety and shot values, which makes it appealing for a range of different skill levels. The par 4s and par 5s require long, accurate drives but the approach shots will test your iron game. The golf course also features undulating fairways lined with bunkers and water hazards come into play on 10 holes. In addition to the golf course, Stallion Mountain boasts a comprehensive practice facility that includes a 16-acre driving range with 40 tees, five practice putting greens, two chipping greens, and two practice bunkers.

Double booking

Had a 7:08 tee time as a single. I was paired up with another single. Went to the first tee to find out there was another 3 some at 7:08 and they had 2 friends and they were at 7:08. The 7:00 group in front of us was a foursome and they also had 4 more people at 7:00. Long story short, bring all the people you want and u will get out eventually i suppose. I got my money back and left.

Great Greens but that’s about all

This course is a nice layout in a residential community about 20 minutes from the strip. Fairways were in terrible condition. Very disappointing. Bunkers were dry clay with no depth. Pace of play was average. There were no rangers on the course. Carts were in decent shape with on course gps. The best thing about the course were the greens. They were soft and receptive and rolled beautifully. Minimal staff but they were friendly

Great layout. Great round.

Second time playing stallion mountain. Love the layout. Fairways r a little sketchy due to the heat, however they r still very playable. Greens are hard and run true. Again 110 f for two months will do this. Pace of play was awesome. 3 20 round. Vg value. will be back

No indication of work being done to course

When we arrived there were no signs or notifications either when booking through Golfnow, reservation confirmation or at the course checking in that the fairways had been aerated or plugged with huge clumps of dirt on all front 9 holes and a few on the back nine. This isn't the first time setting up a tee time through Golfnow that upon arriving at the course discovering greens or fairways or tee boxes were either being worked on without any notifications of any sort finding out after payment of green fees and Golfnow fees.

Bad Shape

I’m not sure if all the public courses in Vegas are in as bad of shape as this course, because people aren’t willing to play in the heat so the course doesn’t have money to maintain it, but Stallion Mountain was dry to the bone. Fairways were rock solid, as well as the bunkers, dead spots were everywhere, and there was barely any water on the course...it was 110 F. The greens were surprisingly the best part of the course, but that’s cause they kept them very shaggy so they wouldn’t get scorched. Spend some more money and play a nicer course!

Good course and practice facility.

Stallion Mt is a fun course with some easy and some challenging holes. The fairways were a bit patchy but the greens were perfect.

Free for all

Except for the fact there was no GPS and next to no yardages on course the pace of play was good until our threesome caught a five some on 7 who claimed to have been part of a tournament and took 60 minutes to finish front 9. Fearing heatstroke I skipped 10 and 11 and was fine until catching a 6 some with a disabled golfer on 13 who where friendly but also would not let a Single play through. This course doesn’t have Marshall’s so it’s a true free for all. The 15 holes I did play where in good shape.

A nice course layout

Stallion Mountain winds through homes with some fairways very narrow. Accuracy is rewarded with clear shots to the green. If you stray off to the sides, you'll have a difficult time reaching the green. It's best to take your medicine, punch-out to the middle and move on. The Bermuda grass greens were verti-cut three weeks ago, and still have tracks that take your ball away from the hole. In addition, the greens are undulating, tiny at times, and very bumpy. Putts heading toward the hole will often veer off course following the grooves. Water comes into play on several holes and sand bunkers are more decomposed granite and clay than sand. Some of the fairways were barren from disease with no visible signs of treatment. Stallion Mountain is well worth the money and I recommend you visit the course for yourself.
