Stallion Mountain Golf Club is conveniently situated just minutes from the Strip, but this Las Vegas golf course feels much further away thanks to a scenic landscape of towering, mature pines and six sparkling lakes. Over the years the course has hosted several major events including Frank Sinatra's Celebrity Classic and Las Vegas Invitational. It has a versatile layout that offers plenty of variety and shot values, which makes it appealing for a range of different skill levels. The par 4s and par 5s require long, accurate drives but the approach shots will test your iron game. The golf course also features undulating fairways lined with bunkers and water hazards come into play on 10 holes. In addition to the golf course, Stallion Mountain boasts a comprehensive practice facility that includes a 16-acre driving range with 40 tees, five practice putting greens, two chipping greens, and two practice bunkers.

Brutally slow

Tee times too close together. Management needs to space out groups, otherwise you are doomed to a 5.5hr plus round. Unable to truly enjoy what is otherwise a good golf course because of pace of play.

Do not recommend

The greens were in bad shape and whatever you do, stay in fairways, grass was burnt and hard and dusty if you were in the rough. The sand traps were like concrete. Also our gps did not work, we asked for a new cart twice and they never sent one. Very disappointing.

End of winter golf

Although it was cold and windy, we enjoyed our round. Pace of play was decent with early tee times. Course is in good shape coming out of winter.

Great course for the money!

Just got in to Vegas and playing first golf of the year so we were looking for a less expensive course to warm up on. Staff was courteous and helpful course was in good shape. Greens just coming out of dormancy but rolled quick and true. Only complaint was the bunker sand was hard and very thin in many places. I guess I wouldn’t have noticed if I stayed out of them!

Disastrous

Absolutely shocking that a facility would allow numerous 5somes on a busy Saturday. Totally unprofessional and low and behold it was a five and a half hour round. Let alone that they allowed fivesomes, the fivesome in front of us couldn’t hit the ball out of their shadow. Trust me, the course isn’t worth $30, let alone the $60 that we paid. If you are a real golfer then stay away from Stallion Mountain. They only care about revenue. They literally couldn’t care less if you spent all day on the course. They tee off in 7 minute increments. This is the main reason you have 5 hr. rounds. The ownership is all about revenue.
A TRUE DISASTER!!! Will NEVER return to this facility. too many other places to play in Vegas.

You get what you pay for

My wife and I booked via golf now for $100 for the both of us, including carts. We got paired up with two great Canadian guys from Vancouver. The round was fine but we were stuck behind a 3-some and had to wait for them before every single shot ... the issue that I have is there are no Marshall/player assistant available to keep the pace moving. The 3-some were so slow that a 5-some (yes five) behind us had to wait for us as well. Condition and layout were decent but the bunkers could use some sands. I read from other reviewers about pace of play so this appears to be a common problem. We teed off at around 8, hoping that pace of play would not be an issue ... we couldn’t be more wrong.

Repeat Experience

We make it a point to play this course when we’re in Vegas. Usually the couse is in good condition and has a very nice practice facility. Range bals are extra. pace of of play is usually pushing 5 hours since there doesn’t seem to be a starter or marshall. We had to wait about 30 minutes beyond our time for a cart. That seemed to be a major issue for those later times in the morning. It would seem a problem easy to fix with a few more carts. Good vaalue for a round in Vegas.

Slow day

The course layout is actually not bad and greens rolled well and fairly fast. Fairways were ok but the gravel off the fairways makes you think twice about scratching up your clubs. Sand in the bunkers, what sand? Hard pan bunkers around the green. Wrist hurts still from a couple of them. Worse thing was the slow play. It was a Monday which typically aren’t too bad and we starte around 10:30. Finished the from around 1:30. It was t getting any better in the back and we left after 12 since what started out as a comfortable schedule got real tight with the potential for a 6 hour round. Too bad, since the course was interesting and fair.

Busy on Sunday

Played on Sunday 10:20am. Course was full.
Good driving range and practice area before round.
Greens were hard and very fast. GPS in carts worked fine. 4.5 hour round. Locals told me course not as busy during the week.

Last day in Vegas

Got a hot deal on golf now ($60 for weekend). Got paired up with a 3 some. There are two par 3's within the first 5 holes so the pace starts pretty slow and gets a little better.

This course is more forgiving than most Desert golf courses. Greens were rolling very nicely. Staff is excellent.

I would definately play here again. Only lost 3 balls even though I was spraying it.

Low cost value course

Booked this course without any advice.
There is value here as the cost was very reasonable. However, the course was in “fair” shape for the begining of their season. There was a tournament before our time which delayed our start by one hour.
Low cost, good value. Keep your expectations average.
