Stallion Mountain Golf Club is conveniently situated just minutes from the Strip, but this Las Vegas golf course feels much further away thanks to a scenic landscape of towering, mature pines and six sparkling lakes. Over the years the course has hosted several major events including Frank Sinatra's Celebrity Classic and Las Vegas Invitational. It has a versatile layout that offers plenty of variety and shot values, which makes it appealing for a range of different skill levels. The par 4s and par 5s require long, accurate drives but the approach shots will test your iron game. The golf course also features undulating fairways lined with bunkers and water hazards come into play on 10 holes. In addition to the golf course, Stallion Mountain boasts a comprehensive practice facility that includes a 16-acre driving range with 40 tees, five practice putting greens, two chipping greens, and two practice bunkers.

Great Mountain Views

Very friendly staff with great mountain views. Greens were fast but some fairways lacked grass. Good selection in the pro shop. Had a foursome in front of me but they were not prepared to let me play through as i was playing as a single. Made the round very long.

Fall/Winter conditions on a suburban course

Winter conditions as 85% of the course was lying dormant, pace of play was a bit slow. Seemed like the foursome in front of us was being instructed on all shots. Markings/directionals for next hole was lacking.

Revisit

Played this course a few times during previous visits to Vegas. The course was in good condition however the greens I found to be pretty slow even though they do look pretty good. Slow play was a real challenge with sometimes 5 groups on one par 5 !! (This was the only negative)
Club house / Pro shop staff we found to be very friendly. We will definitely be playing this course again.

Good Value

As prices go up in the Vegas area, this course was a moderately inexpensive choice. The track is nicely set up but is a bit worn down in areas. It has two challenging par threes over water that ate me alive. Definitely a good value.

6 Hours of Torture

Went on as a single. When booking, there was no mention of anything going on that would impact a round. When I got there, I found out that they had a big tournament going on and said they had no openings to let me get out ahead of the tournament. They also did not block any time behind tournament so we were right behind them chasing. The round took over 6 hours to play due to the slow play of the tournament. No apologies, nothing. Completely ruined the round for myself and the others that I had joined in with. They should have let me go ahead of the tournament and I would have been well ahead of them with no issue. Will never return to this course and it is a shame. I love the layout but the conditions are not kept up well and the pace was the worst.

What a difference a year makes!

Stallion Mountain has been one of my favorite courses in the LV valley for over 10 years. However, they ran into some challenges for the last couple of years resulting in an unplayable track - extremely overgrown rough, sandless traps with weeds growing in them.

I am happy to report that thanks to the hard work of Brandon (GM) and his team, SM is back!!!

SM offers something for all player levels. Reachable par 5s that can easily turn into snowmans with an errand drive or approach. Visibly easy par 3s (2 are all carry over water) which can result in disastrous outcomes. But good course management makes this a really fun course that tests all your skills.

As all of us locals have experienced, golf has become expensive thanks to COVID introducing the masses to our sport. That’s a good thing for golf but a pricy change for us old timers. So it’s nice when a local gem can be had at a reasonable rate!

Stallion Mountain

I played Stallion about 10 years ago and it was in very poor shape. Just played it on Wednesday 10/25 and was in nice shape so congrats! Pace was great until we ran into a slow 2-some on 14. We still played in 4 hours but could have easily been 3.5. Would definitely recommend playing here for $60 with Golf Now Hot Time
